Vacation 2017 Day 3: Prince Edward Island Drive

And we continue our journey of Day 3 recap of our Vacation 2017.

Today’s itinerary includes mostly a drive around Prince Edward Island. One of my husband’s request for the trip was to cross the Confederation Bridge so that’s what we are doing today. Hopefully, we’ll manage to get a hike in and see some nice scenery. We had a sudden change in our plans halfway through the day as we stopped for lunch to meet up with one of my good friends currently undergoing training in Charlottetown, which was pretty cool.

Let’s see Day 3!

Shediac, New Brunswick
World’s Largest Lobster

Shediac

In the words of my fantastic Game Warp Podcast cohost when I sent this picture to him, he wondered why and who thinks of these things. But then, why not, right? The Atlantic Canada is known for their seafood and PEI for their lobsters. I visited this when I was 12 probably (or younger) and it doesn’t look as menacingly large anymore although still very sizable.

Crossing the Confederation Bridge to PEI

We had a gloomy morning heading into Prince Edward Island. What can we do, right? Breakfast was included at the Days Inn in Moncton so that was pretty awesome. It took one headache off our hands and gave us time to hit the road faster and cross bridge which takes over 10 minutes to cross, I think. The speed can’t be too fast and its about 13kms long.

Lots of Lighthouses Along the Way

Prince Edward Island

Not weird for an island to have plenty of lighthouses and Prince Edward Island had a whole lot. We obviously didn’t stop at all of them, because we are under a time crunch, much more than we even imagined. You’ll see… However, these lighthouses are different just from where they are located and how they are taken care of really seems like they have their own story behind each one.

Port-La-Joye-Fort Amherst

Port La Joye Fort Amherst

Port La Joye Fort Amherst

A last minute decision to turn into this National Historic Site to check it out! Port-La-Joye-Fort Amherst is a pretty location. It has several walking trails spanning out of the main trail. There is some history to learn from this land during war and still seeing a part of the formation/trenches. It was a gloomy day and the rain was going to hit any time so we did the main trail, took a general look around, borrowed their washrooms before getting back on the road.

Lunch at Charlottetown

Swiss Chalet

Swiss Chalet

This trip has marked both a lunch and a dinner experience at two different Swiss Chalet restaurants. Funny, because both of us haven’t eaten there before and we wanted to see how it was. The dinner in Moncton wasn’t so good but this lunch at Charlottetown was much better. A nice and relaxing meal to catch up with our friend about what is going on and his upcoming plans.

Cavendish Beach

PEI National Park

Green Gables House

Prince Edward Island National Park spans over the top part of the island with three areas to visit. We visit maybe two of the areas as we drove along the scenic routes. The highlight is to visit Green Gables House and the Cavendish Beach’s sand dunes. Our little last minute detour did cost us more time than anticipated however we did see these beautiful sceneries, plus at two parts, we actually saw a fox. You see one of them here, right in the middle of the road. It did break my heart a little to see it so skinny. I think it was looking for food which we don’t have and I don’t believe we should give food to wildlife anyways.

This was the final stop before exiting the National Park. For us, it was getting late and we still had to get to Summerside and exit the island and head further up to our next hotel. At this point, we were certain that we were immensely behind schedule.

Dinner at Summerside, PEI: Five Eleven West

Five Eleven West

Five Eleven West was the best meal on our trip. While we were behind schedule, we still took time to relax for a nice meal and just enjoy ourselves. My husband loved the burger, and I was pretty happy with my mussels. However, the show stopper here is the sweet potato fries. They were awesomely delicious.

Last stretch to Miramichi, New Brunswick

Crossing back to New Brunswick on Confederation Bridge

We ended up getting to Days Inn Miramichi past 10pm. It wasn’t bad but we pretty much got to showering and resting right away as we have a long day on the final day and pretty much our trip back home for another 9 hours. And we do recommend Day Inn Miramichi if you ever decide to go there. Really nice service, the rooms are comfortable and spacious and breakfast is included.

That wraps up Day 3 of Vacation! Time sure does fly when you’re having fun! 🙂

Have you been to Prince Edward Island?
Did you visit the red sand beaches and the sand dunes or even Green Gables House?

Unboxing: FabFitFun Summer 2016

Three months went by so fast! We’re here with summer edition of 2016 FabFitFun!

If the Winter 2015 and Spring 2016 wasn’t enough to keep me on board, I have no idea what would. Summer is around the corner and I know two products in the box already. At least I know one for sure because we had a choice of colors. Other than that, lets jump right into the unboxing! 🙂

Unfortunately for this time, I only kept the overview of the Unboxing video. There was some issues with the beginning that would be too much to edit. However, I did round everything in the box up in pictures as well!

FabFitFun [Summer 2016]

FabFitFun Everday Beach Waves Spray

FabFitFun Summer 2016

I’m not much of a beach girl. Its also the fact that there are beaches around here but I never really know which are the good ones. I guess I prefer waterparks. Plus, my place has a pool that my husband puts a ton of effort to start up every year that it just doesn’t justify it. But I do like to sit around the pool and read so this spray to condition and protect hair is pretty cool. I’m eager to try it out because that also means the weather is fantastic and awesome!

Stemulation Daily Micro Derm Scrub

FabFitFun Summer 2016

I’ve never heard of Stemulation before and to be honest, I haven’t found an exfoliating scrub that works well with my skin except for the one from Vichy products. This is a gentle exfoliating cleanser for face and body to remove dull skin cells. I’m going to give it a go and see how that works.

Summer & Rose Yoga Towel (Dream Big)

FabFitFun Summer 2016

One of the choices we got to pick. I haven’t unwrapped mine but I believe it was Dream Big that is with this microfiber Yoga towel. This is extremely useful for me especially because yoga becomes a huge part of my life along with being more active during summer. Actually, all year round I try to sneak in a session here and there. Its been a while though. However, its time to get back to it. It works wonder for stress and clears my mind a lot. Plus, I’m not really flexible so its challenging and I like being challenged. 🙂

Osea Atmosphere Protection Cream

FabFitFun Summer 2016

I’ve never heard of atmosphere protection cream but I think its a brilliant idea. This one can be used as an invisible base before makeup or mixed with foundation. However, it is a moisturizer that protects skin from dehydration and damage. I like that a lot! Such a useful product for the summer!

Passport to Beauty Gpyset Luminous Lips

FabFitFun Summer 2016

Lip gloss right here! I don’t use gloss a lot but rather just chapsticks if I want to ease the chapped lips. However, its something to try out. This one came in three shades. Mine is called Flower Child and its packed with Vitamin E and says in the booklet that its rich in hydration and antioxidants. That sounds pretty awesome! 🙂

Betchsicles Ice Pop Molds

FabFitFun Summer 2016

Its the summer! I always think about making popsicles. Last year, I didn’t end up doing it but this year, I have a ton of ideas and I just got a lot of the ingredients. I already have some popsicles molds which I could use but I can always use more and make more variety! Plus, these ones are champagnes shaped. How cool is that?

Trina Turk Canvas Tote [Seas The Day]

FabFitFun Summer 2016

The other product we got to choose. I like the shade of blue they used for this one and its pretty neat as a play on words for “Seas the Day”. Perfect for a day out with friends and just heading out to parties or whatnot.

Bonus: Burt’s Bees BB Cream

FabFitFun Summer 2016

I’ve never explored the world of BB Creams much. I did get one once and never ended up using it because I had that eye infection a few years back that wouldn’t go away. This is a sponsored product and some other people got the cleansing oil. I think this is pretty nifty especially because I never knew Burt’s Bee made this product.

Compeed Instant Blister Relief

FabFitFun Summer 2016

My guess is this is also a sponsored product because there wasn’t a mention in the booklet. However, this is a great thing just because summer means sandals and at times, I get blisters from it and instant relief sounds like a sweet solution.

Here’s the unboxing wrap-up!

Overall…FabFitFun Summer 2016 box was full of fun goodies. Yet again, I learned about a ton of products I normally would not encounter. There’s a ton of stuff for just hanging out in the sun and skin care and those are fave things to do. Its all really useful and that is a plus. I’m most excited to try out the Osea atmosphere protection cream and really happy about the microfiber yoga towel and absolutely in love with the tote bag.

What product peaks your interest in this unboxing?

Weekly Photo Challenge: Sea

Sea. What kind of emotions does the sea or ocean make you feel? Do you remember the first time you went in the water? Had a wave crash on you? Felt the sand burn your feet? Do you feel more peaceful around water? Do you hate the beach? What’s the most interesting thing about the sea for you?

The sea or the ocean or any body of water makes me feel tranquil/peaceful, just like all the stress in my body is gone.

Red Sea Egypt

Red Sea in Egypt in 2010

I don’t exactly remember the first time I went into water.  I do know that it could be when I was very little and it was at a beach in Hong Kong.  That was possibly the first memory I have.

Mediterranean Sea

Mediterranean Sea in Alexandria, Egypt in 2010

To feel and hear the wave crashing is just so soothing.  I love sitting on the side and hearing the currents or walking on the side of the beach and just feel the cool water hit my feet.

Pacific Ocean :)

Pacific Ocean in Victoria, British Columbia in 2009

I’ve become a huge fan of bathing in water, swimming around, and that includes going to the beach, unfortunately my boyfriend is not as into it as I am.  So this summer, the beach is a place I wanted to go but never did go.  Next year, right?

I don’t really know why I find the sea so awesome but I can tell you that maybe its just feels so fresh.  I’m more attracted to waterfalls, flowing streams, crashing waves, roaring rapids.  Maybe its the action and the flow of nature that makes it seem so in sync with everything and just balances my mind and body.

I do wish I had more photos but living in central Canada, I get mostly lakes and rivers and smaller bodies of water.
