Three months went by so fast! We’re here with summer edition of 2016 FabFitFun!
If the Winter 2015 and Spring 2016 wasn’t enough to keep me on board, I have no idea what would. Summer is around the corner and I know two products in the box already. At least I know one for sure because we had a choice of colors. Other than that, lets jump right into the unboxing! 🙂
Unfortunately for this time, I only kept the overview of the Unboxing video. There was some issues with the beginning that would be too much to edit. However, I did round everything in the box up in pictures as well!
FabFitFun [Summer 2016]
FabFitFun Everday Beach Waves Spray
I’m not much of a beach girl. Its also the fact that there are beaches around here but I never really know which are the good ones. I guess I prefer waterparks. Plus, my place has a pool that my husband puts a ton of effort to start up every year that it just doesn’t justify it. But I do like to sit around the pool and read so this spray to condition and protect hair is pretty cool. I’m eager to try it out because that also means the weather is fantastic and awesome!
Stemulation Daily Micro Derm Scrub
I’ve never heard of Stemulation before and to be honest, I haven’t found an exfoliating scrub that works well with my skin except for the one from Vichy products. This is a gentle exfoliating cleanser for face and body to remove dull skin cells. I’m going to give it a go and see how that works.
Summer & Rose Yoga Towel (Dream Big)
One of the choices we got to pick. I haven’t unwrapped mine but I believe it was Dream Big that is with this microfiber Yoga towel. This is extremely useful for me especially because yoga becomes a huge part of my life along with being more active during summer. Actually, all year round I try to sneak in a session here and there. Its been a while though. However, its time to get back to it. It works wonder for stress and clears my mind a lot. Plus, I’m not really flexible so its challenging and I like being challenged. 🙂
Osea Atmosphere Protection Cream
I’ve never heard of atmosphere protection cream but I think its a brilliant idea. This one can be used as an invisible base before makeup or mixed with foundation. However, it is a moisturizer that protects skin from dehydration and damage. I like that a lot! Such a useful product for the summer!
Passport to Beauty Gpyset Luminous Lips
Lip gloss right here! I don’t use gloss a lot but rather just chapsticks if I want to ease the chapped lips. However, its something to try out. This one came in three shades. Mine is called Flower Child and its packed with Vitamin E and says in the booklet that its rich in hydration and antioxidants. That sounds pretty awesome! 🙂
Betchsicles Ice Pop Molds
Its the summer! I always think about making popsicles. Last year, I didn’t end up doing it but this year, I have a ton of ideas and I just got a lot of the ingredients. I already have some popsicles molds which I could use but I can always use more and make more variety! Plus, these ones are champagnes shaped. How cool is that?
Trina Turk Canvas Tote [Seas The Day]
The other product we got to choose. I like the shade of blue they used for this one and its pretty neat as a play on words for “Seas the Day”. Perfect for a day out with friends and just heading out to parties or whatnot.
Bonus: Burt’s Bees BB Cream
I’ve never explored the world of BB Creams much. I did get one once and never ended up using it because I had that eye infection a few years back that wouldn’t go away. This is a sponsored product and some other people got the cleansing oil. I think this is pretty nifty especially because I never knew Burt’s Bee made this product.
Compeed Instant Blister Relief
My guess is this is also a sponsored product because there wasn’t a mention in the booklet. However, this is a great thing just because summer means sandals and at times, I get blisters from it and instant relief sounds like a sweet solution.
Here’s the unboxing wrap-up!
Overall…FabFitFun Summer 2016 box was full of fun goodies. Yet again, I learned about a ton of products I normally would not encounter. There’s a ton of stuff for just hanging out in the sun and skin care and those are fave things to do. Its all really useful and that is a plus. I’m most excited to try out the Osea atmosphere protection cream and really happy about the microfiber yoga towel and absolutely in love with the tote bag.
What product peaks your interest in this unboxing?

Now this is what I’m talking about! 2014, just with this week, you’ve already beaten my entire 2013!
This week was not eventful, well, the beginning at least. In fact, the last two weeks have been really a constant of me saying that I’m busy, stressed, tired. I promised I’d reveal everything when its all finalized.
BUT, before that reveal, lets get on with the smaller awesome stuff. We’ll build up to that a little and it actually matches up perfectly with this weekend because its a special day tomorrow and I’m thinking of something special to do, that I haven’t quite decided on just yet.
This post will be possibly long but it’ll be happy and positive and all sorts of happy wonderful things 🙂
5) I got my new watch that I bought on Boxing Day sale from Beyond the Rack.
Its the first time I’ve done any business with Beyond the Rack and let me tell you, I am very satisfied. I got this before the estimated delivery so that makes it so much more awesome. And well, I’m also satisfied with Canada Post who delivered this package last night at 7pm or something. Lovely light and comfortable watch 🙂 I haven’t had one of those in a while. My watch is also my cellphone. I’m all for multi-functional items but sometimes, its really easier to check the time instead of whipping out my smart phone.
4) Did I tell you I’m being maid of honor for a long time good friend’s wedding in March? If I have, I’m sorry. Yesterday, I also tried on my dress for that event. I think there’s still a few touch ups on the dress itself but overall, the dress is beautiful. As for me, I need to polish those workout goals a little especially in the upper body. No pictures for this one until the day of. This links to my Facebook and I’m sure she wants that to be a surprise for everyone.
Which is also to say that tomorrow, they invited me to go with the couple to the bridal show. I’ve never been to a bridal show and it sounds pretty fun. I, myself, am not having those gigantic weddings but the one thing I did make my boyfriend promise me when we get married is that I get to have a pretty white dress and get a nice wedding photography session.
I want this dress if I were to get married! 😉
Anyways, it seems like there are already two weddings coming up this year. What can I say…we’re coming to that age, right?
3) Its not so great that my TESL course is possibly going to expire soon, like in a week and I’m SUPER behind. I have been getting my act together and working late nights studying and studying. That also explains the slowing down in posts. However, I do enjoy that pace. BUT, thats not the point. I study with either music or a movie playing in the background, which also means I can’t watch something new. I went back and got back into a few of my faves. I figured that I’d add that in here and put some feel good musical scenes to give you a reading break.
I’m starting to admit that I do like Zac Efron quite a bit but you know, I really like this guy even in his first little role in OC back in my high school days.
Cam Gigandet
Cam Gigandet is just so handsome and charming. *sigh* I like him so much!
As I’m typing up this post, I’m tortured with desire to reveal why this weekend is special and I’m thinking maybe since this is such a huge post, I’ll just do something short tomorrow and cut to the chase.
2) The runner up of good stuff is TRANQUIL DREAMS 3RD BLOGVERSARY. Its roughly around this time. I’ll do a brief explanation in tomorrow’s post. I just need a few moments to figure out what to do tomorrow to give proper thanks to all of you! 🙂 For once, I remembered it right on time which makes me quite happy.
1) Now, for the big reveal of what I’ve been being all secretive and busy with. I guess from up there, you’ve deducted that I’m NOT getting married. My boyfriend and I figured since we weren’t doing something huge, we’d skip ahead and back in early December we got ourselves a very awesome real estate agent which happens to also be a friend and started house shopping. Fast forward now to 2 weekends ago, we got to see two houses that we really liked and the reality of it was we liked both a lot too. However, we did make our choice and that leads to this paperwork that I had posted for a previous challenge.
And last weekend, I had my home inspection cleared and got myself a very thick report of little things we have to do when we move in.
Inspection report
And why am I only saying it now? Because our mortgage just got approved on Wednesday and well, there was really no other type of post to go up to talk about it but in my personal one 🙂 No pictures of my house of course since move in is not for another 3 months or so. Lots of planning though and my brain is already working on what to do next. Actual DIY projects start after my TESL is done next week. Maybe I’ll post about it 🙂 You know, interior decor, crafts, and that sort of thing…what do you think?
So thats my big news! I’m a home owner! 🙂 WOOHOO! The next step in life!
How about that? Doesn’t 2014 already feel better? Things are looking up!
I’ll be back with a little post tomorrow but for now: I gotta get back to work on my TESL.
Last week, Mettel Ray announced that she was going to host a second blogathon. Last year my involvement in movies was really limited but she held a very impressive one. After reading through this year’s, I decided to give it a shot. Starting this week and for the next 3 weeks, she will post up 2 emotions where we get to pick our most memorable 3 scenes each (if we pick both emotions) and 5 scenes (if we pick one emotion) to post in whichever way we want. Sounds like a reasonable task 🙂
This Monday, she initiated the blogathon with FEAR & AWKWARD. If you want to see the full description, check it out HERE, maybe you want to join in the fun!
I was going to choose the 3 scenes for each emotion but then FEAR and midnight searches didn’t go too well for me. I couldn’t even bear opening the sound so I ended up staring at my movie collection and thinking up two more scenes to fill up the AWKWARD emotion 🙂
AWKWARD is an interesting emotion to use, since Mettel says that it can be either funny and embarrassing for the character or ridiculous. When you look at it that way, then it becomes a bit harder. Although, my life is surrounded by lots of chick flicks so there’s a good amount of them, just need to decide which makes the cut for “most memorable”.
Since Mettel already used the pooping in the street as the example, I had to find another scene from Bridesmaids since its full of ridiculous and funny awkward moments. The airplane scene was one where I found was funny awkward but so very awkward for Annie (Kristen Wiig).
2. Easy A –> Olive’s Fake Sex with Brandon
Olive having fake sex with Brandon has to be one of my favorite parts in Easy A (although I do love the movie to bits). Its a part I find crazy hilarious. I don’t know who I find its more embarrassing for though, Brandon unsuccessful making noises and saying inappropriate comments during fake sex or that Olive (Emma Stone) has to engage into this activity.
4. Hairspray –> “I’m a bad bad girl who needs to be punished”
Imagine doing this extremely embarrassing thing in front of the guy you’ve been crushing on for ages. DEFINITELY awkward!
5. Sixteen Candles –> Grandma Helen and Grandpa Fred (video from 0:00 – 1:00)
I don’t know how close grandparents are supposed to be after you are after 12 years old (or maybe even 10) but being smothered from grandpa like that is already on weird territory and then getting felt up by grandma is just a huge no-no. We may not have felt the scene but it has embarrassing all over it. Thank goodness it was at home, right?
That about wraps it up for my most memorable scenes. I probably have a good dozen rumbling about in my brain but these were the first that came to me 🙂
Thanks to Mettel for organizing this and for coming up with this great emotion. I had a fun time reliving these hilarious movie moments. Can’t wait to see what is going to be next week’s emotions! 🙂
She’s totally awesome to go on over and check her out and I urge you to join in! It’ll be lots of fun, I guarantee it! 😉
I’m a huge musical person! I love it all, well almost all…I have some issues with say, Nine. Not the musical quality just the movie in general. However, after a whole month of horror, torture, slashing, crazy people, I’m ready for some singing and dancing. Corny movies are perfect for this phase and I’ve watched most of them so its perfect for this month while I’m writing like crazy 🙂 Hairspray is my absolute go-to movie when I need a lift in spirit.
1962 Baltimore was influenced by the local TV show, The Corny Collins Show. It featured a bunch of high school students who everyone wanted to be. A “pleasantly plump” (as IMDB describes her) Tracy Turnblad (Nikki Blonsky) lives and breaths the show, especially every month’s Negro Day. Her and her best friend, Penny (Amanda Bynes) both run home after school to catch it and learn the new dance moves. When there is an empty spot on the show, Tracy auditions for it but is turned down by the very snobby TV manager, Velma Von Tussel (Michelle Pfeiffer) who believes in upstanding the norms of skinny and white being the way it should be. When the show’s star, Link (Zac Efron) invites Tracy to go audition a second time at the dance event at school, Corny Collins (James Marsden) adds her in right away. Her ideas of supporting integration doesn’t take a favor to Velma and along with her daughter Amber (Brittany Snow), they try to stop her. Despite all their efforts, she brings a whole new wave of thought to everyone around her.
I really don`t think any other movie makes me as happy as watching Hairspray 🙂
Thats what I tweeted after watching Hairspray once (for the millionth time) on Friday night. What I love about Hairspray is that it has catchy tunes and the cast is absolutely fantastic. Just look at the list above! Its filled with actors and actresses I love. A lot of those when I first saw Hairspray had surprised me that they had agreed to take part in this.
Christopher Walken, really? Man, was he hilarious! Michelle Pfeiffer totally kicked some butt at being the racist and full of prejudice mother. I’m a huge fan of Amanda Bynes back then because of She’s the Man and Brittany Snow because of John Tucker Must Die. They were the teen flicks queens in my book (alongside Lindsey Lohan). That one reason I want to see Brittany Snow’s career get better because she’s a respectful actress and I was happy to watch Would you Rather for Halloween (review HERE if you’d like to check it out). These are all supporting cast. My favorite would have to go out to John Travolta in what I assume is a body suit and playing as a woman. He was impressive, especially when he did all the sequences with Christopher Walken, who played her husband. However, the biggest joy I had was watching Queen Latifah on screen and everything she sang, its a total mood lifter. Of course, our lead has to be amazing as well. I have never heard of Nikki Blonsky before Hairspray and never after either. However, nothing takes away the fact that she was so fun to watch on screen. She danced and sang and just took it away.
Hairspray doesn’t have a lot to talk about. Its nothing that focuses on anything deep and profound but it does try to inspire change and to be open mind. In the time that its set in, this was the situation they were in: the rights of blacks and whites. Physical appearances like skin color and size was an issue that divided up people. However, its as always, art, music and dance closes the gaps, with the help of a a few outstanding individuals who want to instigate change. Most of these musicals tend to carry a lot of inspiring messages. Its uplifting to watch it.
Hairspray may seem corny to the max, (maybe thats why James Marsden’s character is called Corny Collins) but it packs in a lot of fun and good times. Its filled with catchy songs and cute dances. The cast is funny and silly most of the times and its really hard to not just laugh out loud, if you’re into musicals. In whole, its just some good energetic and full of passion. It never fails to make me jump out of my chair and do some dorky dancing 😉
If you’re having a bad day and you like musicals, this is an absolutely awesome choice. Even if you’re having a great day, it’ll make you feel even better 🙂 I actually played this movie a second time later that night, just to give you an idea how much I love it.
