Welcome to my little blog, Tranquil Dreams. If you are interested in something more along creative writing and certain features here from the early years of this blog, you can head over to my other blog, Avenue of Daydreams. My main focus still stays here but feel free to check it out if that intrigues you.
Why Tranquil Dreams?
Tranquil Dreams comes from the translation of my chinese name. Life is about dreams and reaching for things that make you happy. I love to learn about life and staying positive. I hope to keep a blog that’s not only about the random things in life but also having a twist of how even when things aren’t too great, there’s always a positive side to it. After all, everything happens for a reason, n’est-ce pas? My goal is to stay positive!
Essentially, thats what I blog about: my passions, interests and what may potentially fuel my dreams into what may be something more in the future as I work hard to polish my skills 🙂
What to look forward to?
Tranquil Dreams has been around for a decade. Every year there are little changes here and there to keep things interesting on my part. While this section might not always be updated annually…I am getting older so the memory is not as good anymore. Every year is always a mix of new and old and its going to be a lot of fun. Its versatile as heck but that’s how we like it around here. Below are the segments and the main focus every year!
- Movie Reviews
- Double Features
- Theatrical releases (post-pandemic is focused on streaming services releases, mainly Netflix and Shudder)
- Fantasia Film Festival coverage
- Book Reviews
- TV Binges
- Music Obsessions (First weekend of each month)
- My Weekly Adventures (monthly – covers all personal things: hiking, food and restaurants, hauls, workout, etc.)
- What’s Up is now in podcast format with possible expansion of other segments in the future for the podcast
- Sunday Lists (in hiatus)
*Just to add a little disclaimer, Photography, baking, travel will feature my own photos however, all the movie review posters and screenshots along with book covers are found either on Goodreads or Google Images. If anyone would like me to take it down, please advise me and I will do so.
If you have any books, movies or TV series to recommend, please feel free to do so!

This is a real nice blog you have here. I like your photos particularly the ones of the aquarium in Burlington, Vermont. I also like your restaurants reviews. Your philosophy of trying to stay positive is a good one. Not always easy at times, but an admirable goal. So, have the leaves come out on the trees in Montreal? My brother lives in Calgary and he is always depressed that it takes so long for the leaves to come out on the trees. He says it isn’t until May when they do. Here in Indiana they usually come out in March, so I was just wondering what it was looking like up there.

Thanks! Glad you like it here! Staying positive is hard and thats why blogging has really helped me with that. Burlington was totally awesome! Have you been there before?
My trees are almost completely fully covered with leaves and even my plum tree is blossoming already and the spring flowers are all out. So its looking good 🙂 But we have a warm streak last week which helped a lot!

I have been to Vermont, but never to Burlington. The last time I was there was in 1983 and it rained the whole time, so I should try to make it back there sometime because the state has a nice quant beauty to it. Did you ever see the 80’s TV- show ‘Newhart’? That took place there and everytime I think of Vermont I think of that show.
