We’re back with another unboxing! We’re at our last block for a little while.  We will be resubscribing eventually but for now, my husband and I have decided to de-clutter our house before getting any more of this (among many of the reasons). Arcade Block is a lot of fun but I’ll be having some fun stuff coming up still! 🙂

More Zelda gear! I swear, Arcade Block never ceases to remind me how I’m behind on Zelda games and just getting into this world. I’m not sure its my type of game though, to be honest.

Sonic the Hedgehog Drinking Cup [Exclusive]

OMG! Hands down! My most excited moment in this unboxing! I love Sonic to pieces and I’ve always wanted a drinking up like this, you know, those double walled ones? Yeah, I love it! 🙂

Hyrulian Treasure Chest [Exclusive]

This is yet more Zelda but its a pretty cute box.  I can take out that cardboard and gem thing and use it to store little tidbits of office supplies or something 😉 Super adorable!

Bit.Trip Collection Video Game [Exclusive]

The first thing my husband did when he handed this over to me was that I could play it on my computer.  Deal is, my friend built my computer and at that time, it was for other purposes that didn’t require a graphics card and now that I’m getting back into gaming, I kind of need it but this one probably doesn’t and that is what he means.  I’m pretty intrigued at checking this out 😉

Mushroom and Pipe Shakers [Exclusive]

Isn’t this adorable? I’m not sure it beats my Pacman Ghosts one though but the idea of stacking it up is really awesome! I’ll figure out somewhere to put this 😉

Pokemon Evolutions T-Shirt [Exclusive]

As usual, we wrap things up with the T-Shirt.  This time, its the 20th anniversary for Pokemon. Its been 20 years? Wow! Now, I’m starting to feel a little old. There were also two other ones which were different patterns and was blue or orange. I think it looks really cool! 🙂

Overall…A great February Arcade Block as always.  My favorite goes to the lovely shirt design and the Sonic Drinking Cup. We got games and shakers and those are both fun and useful! In general, I can make use with everything here and that is what is always great about Arcade Blocks.  I’m definitely coming back in a few months after we get some more organizing in our house done.  Its been dragging on for too long and we need to figure some stuff out before committing to this again.  However, we do have another box subscription which is why this could be set aside for now.

There are some fun stuff planned coming up, either events or unboxing or whatnot! I promise you more fun times! Always remember that when I set something aside, I always have thought up some sort of alternative 🙂

Unboxing: Arcade Block [September 2015]

It feels like forever since I’ve done an unboxing.  But its weird because the month went by really fast.  Maybe its just I’ve been so focused on movie reviews that I forgot about all the other side segments that aren’t as frequent.  Regardless, we’re here! I got both my blocks together.  One of them is my new subscription which will show up a little later this week (hint: Friday).  I really want to keep this one in the September so its truly fresh off the press here.  I got it on Monday, unboxed last night and here we are with the post up for all of you lovelies! 🙂

Let’s give it a go, shall we? We were promised some pretty awesome gear so I was looking forward to it!

[September 2015]

1) 5″ Goomba Plush

We start this box with the first thing being a Goomba Plush.  I love Mario! I just love it! Every time I get some Mario related gear I just fill up with joy! 🙂 Isn’t it uber cute! Its now situated right on my table lamp.

2) Exclusive: Springz Chicken

I’m thinking this is some Minecraft related gear.  Something about chasing chickens and although I don’t play Minecraft, I kind of remember seeing chickens.  Am I wrong? Either way, this is a little thing for the car dashboard or whatever surface, I guess? I’m not sure I want to add a springy chicken to anything… What about you?

3) Exclusive: Galak-Z 7″ Record

Anyone own a record player? Well, I do..kind of.  At my mom’s.  I don’t know what Galak-Z is but I sure want to know so I’ll try to borrow that over to my place. But, Arcade Block was extremely thorough and gave us a little card with a “sweet” deal on a turntable.  I’m not even going to go surf it though because I’m not sure I’m prepared to be wowed by the prices just yet 😉

4) Exclusive: The Hero’s Shield Key Chain 

Remember last block, I talked about how Zelda is going to be a big theme in this block? Well, next three items is all about it!

We start first with a beautiful key chain.  And you can even use it as a pendant if you so wish.  Now that is pretty nifty.  Plus, the design looks really good so among all the key chains we’ve gotten from these blocks and boxes, this one really does appeal the most.

5) Exclusive: The Hero’s Triumph Canvas

Perfect timing! That was the first thought in both me and my fiance’s thoughts when we saw this.  Right when we were thinking that we’ll have rather bare walls for visiting family during our wedding visits, we received a lovely canvas.  I have yet to play any Zelda but this canvas looks so awesome! I love the colors and artwork.  Its just awesome! 🙂

6) Exclusive: Wind Waker T-Shirt

Legend of Zelda T-Shirt is what we got this time around.  I pretty much guessed this one but I have to say, the design on this one is pretty great.  If you can’t see it clearly, the shirt is an indigo/light blue sort of color but I love that ship design.  Its very creative! 🙂

This block was almost 85% exclusive gear.  I think that might make this block rather valuable whether in collectibles or whatnot.  Pretty cool, eh?

P.S. There’s also a promo card in there saying that there will be a Sci-fi Block launching in November with some Star Wars: The Force Awakens Funko Pop and a Celebrity Autograph and a little more… Usually, I don’t mention these things but that sounds pretty groovy.

Unboxing: Arcade Block [August 2015]

We’re back with another unboxing! Losing one subscription means we’re just with the Arcade Block subscription for this and September.  I’m working on getting another subscription after that so it’ll be back to eventful unboxing 🙂

August had a ton of email reveals from the team at Nerd Block telling us about all the games that the gear would feature.  It had me all hyped up! When it finally arrived on Friday, my fiance and I sat down to do the unboxing on Saturday morning!

Anyone has an idea what Boston Vault Dwellers are? We both didn’t.  Its supposed to be “the best damn team in the post-apocalyptic league”.  I need to research that a little.  Sounds fun 😉

RETRO MAGAZINE (ISSUE#9)

Metal Gear Solid! Yay!

I’m a huge MGS fan! We got the magazine and started discussing whether we had missed one of the newer games. Suffice to say, we’ve kind of fallen a little behind in the last year or two with our lives being literally moved into a new place and our schedule having a little flip around.  But things are settling in and we’re making time to do more gaming here and there.  Maybe we’ll pull out MGS and give it a go! 🙂

I can’t wait to read this magazine! It went right away to our night table! 🙂

Exclusive item: TERRY CLOTH WRISTBAND

The fiance already snatched this up for playing Gran Turismo Racing.  Apparently that makes him sweat.  Well, that’s because I never understood such a strategic racing game.  Haha! But, to be super honest, playing video games taught me about counter-steering and that is super useful during winter on snowy days. Man, I want to play some Need for Speed…

Product of the Month: MORTAL KOMBAT X PLUSH

We haven’t gotten into the Mortal Kombat X. We don’t own either of the consoles it was released on.  Its a work in progress to save funds for it.  Regardless, Sub-Zero is pretty iconic.  I did play Mortal Kombat when I was young with my cousin.  That is what happens when you grow up with only one cousin near your age and is a guy. Haha! But, it was fun.  I never realized how brutal it was until I saw those gameplay videos of Mortal Kombat X.  Has it always been that brutal especially those finishing moves?

Exclusive: ORIGINAL VIDEOGAME SOUNTRACK: SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD:THE GAME

I’ve already shared my love for these soundtracks that pop up in the Arcade Block.  I loved the instrumental one a few months back.  I’m not too sure about the past one but this one sounds pretty good.  Its from “chiptunes rockers” Anamanaguchi.  I’ve never heard of them but if they are mixing old school with rock successfully as the info card says that I’m down 🙂

These shirt from ShirtPunch are seriously so awesome.  The way they mix it up so clever and brilliant.  Seriously, can you see what they messed with? I noticed it right away and was like, wait, isn’t that supposed to be….” Can you see it?

I know a few of you will be interested in seeing what its going to be.  I have yet to enter the world of Hyrule and Zelda and all that awesomeness I hear so much about 🙂

Music Obsessions (with a hint of bonus comedy)

I’m not sure how long Music Obsessions is going to last.  I’ve been on Youtube watching gaming videos more than I’m listening to music.  Plus, the radio has been having some pretty crappy songs on loop so I gave up on that for a little while. So this Music Obsessions, we will mess around a little and change it up with a comedy video at the end just in case music isn’t really your thing. But humor is subjective so hopefully you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.

Also, I’ll try out a new structure where I have certain categories and choose one song for it.  I might get a little sneaky and mess with this a little. Music Obsessions are about having fun so let’s just roll with it! 🙂

Unboxing: Arcade Block May 2015

These unboxing posts are turning out to be quite a hit here.  That makes me happy because I also enjoying putting those together a lot!

Arcade Block has failed me rarely and this one, before we even got the box, the newsletter said that we’d get an item from Metal Gear Solid.  I’m not much of a gamer because I’m really bad at games and patience kind of runs out after a while but I’ve watched the play through of MGS two or three times already.  Its a long game so it kind of makes sense. We’re still working on finishing MGS 3 on PS2.  At least I am and should.  Anyways, that doesn’t matter but I love MGS.  That’s what I’m trying to say!

Plus, I had to wait a whole weekend away in Toronto before coming home to unbox this!!

These Zelda items are quite plentiful but excuse me, this jar is cute.  Its like a little mason jar.  I don’t know what to put it in but it is adorable! 🙂

South Park figurines: The Grand Wizard (Arcade Block Exclusive)

Maybe you might judge me for not really caring about South Park all that much but in my defense, this used to air really late at night and I had strict parents so I watched like 10 minutes of one episode, I think.  I know who the characters are and that’s about my extent of knowledge.  South Park items aren’t really what I’m looking at, especially when I wonder if they are considered arcade items.  But then, I like collectibles so yay?

Huge Mario fan here.  I might have mentioned that a few times before.  I actually looked at my boyfriend and asked if he wanted to put that in the back of his car.  And he asked me back, “Are you for real?” or something along those lines.  Then I kind of laughed.  Maybe I’ll put it on a window in the house…Hahaha!!!

Creatures T-Shirt

My best guess on this one is that this is a Final Fantasy creature shirt.  Not sure which one.  The boyfriend is way more into these RPG/strategy games and has played almost all of them, tell me its from different games.  I like Final Fantasy and I like pixelated things because thats kind of my time when I played games (not that I don’t like the awesome looking games now), so this shirt is awesome! My boyfriend is already wearing it on the first week of getting it so that shows that he likes it a bunch too! 🙂

Another winner box right here! Cap, Shirts, MGS, FF, Mario and that cute as a button Zelda Jar? I’m in love with it all! 🙂

What do you know?

1UP Box got their act together and got back on track with April’s box and it arrived on last Thursday!

What’s even more awesome than arriving early? Its that this month’s theme is in anticipation for the opening of Avengers: Age of Ultron and themed HERO!

How many of us aren’t even a little anticipating Avengers: Age of Ultron? So this superheroes theme comes right in time!

Funko Pop! Captain America

I’m not exactly sure how to not geek out over this! Other than the fact that I like Captain America and its all Marvel and whatnot, its because I’ve been hoping to get an ACTUAL Funko Pop! figurine thing since I’ve been ordering these boxes.  I got the weird Walking Dead one that winds up and the keychain but finally, an actual one!

I probably shouldn’t start another collection but isn’t this one just awesome!!!!

Remember how I geeked out over getting Boo in the last box.  I really like this one as well.  It was 50/50 that I might have gotten Superman.  I’m not a huge fan of Superman so this one was perfect 🙂

I haven’t ironed on a patch since elementary school.  That’s quite a while back.  This does look incredibly nice so I’m actually thinking where I could iron it on.  Probably on a messenger bag or a backpack? I don’t know yet.  I’ll think about it 😉

If you sniff this stuff long enough, its going to be bad for you.  This air freshener looks alright.  I like Spiderman but I don’t love the smell of this air freshener so I think this might end up going into the trash soon.  Its making everything in the box smell like it and I’m trying to air it all out as this goes up. I’ve been trying to figure out what the smell is.  It might be a really strong citrus smell or at least its trying to be? But then, smells are pretty subjective so who knows…maybe someone else enjoyed it more than me.

And that’s a wrap for April 2015 and my 3 month subscription for 1UP Box! I’m putting some serious thought into whether to subscribe again. One of the main factors is money. I’m still human and gotta worry about the bills 😉 It also depends on the theme.  Decisions, decisions…that I will ponder.  We will see if I’m back for more, right?

This box (and the last one here) is all sorts of awesome! Funko Pop, Mario, Batman: all of these things win my heart over so easily! I’m pretty pleased with it all (except the air freshener).

1UP Box: March 2015

1UP Box took a little tour around United States and took a really long time to get here.  Tracking wasn’t exactly great either on the USPS site so it was just showing up points of reference that I didn’t know. Point is, right after Easter holidays, it got here. Of course, I wasn’t able to get a post up since we’ve been buried in the Fast and the Furious franchise.  With Furious 7 wrapped up yesterday and today being Friday, its time for a fun mystery box unboxing day!

Arcade Block: February Unboxing!

Welcome to another Arcade Block unboxing! No video this time (but I promise I will have one for the next one).

I actually received my Arcade Block back at my own place (which I STILL haven’t moved into) on Monday.  After I managed to hurt my knee bad enough to not walk from helping assemble an IKEA dresser on Sunday, I finally managed to move with much less pain after 4 days.  Yay! Which also means, I can now drive over and open it with my boyfriend. Double YAY!

(Sidenote: You never realize how amazing walking is until something hinders it. Cherishing life moment)

If you’re a Zelda fan, you may envy me…just saying 😉

I haven’t played much Zelda but I intend to when I save up for the 3DS that I hopefully will purchase later this year. Thats the goal at least.

If there’s anything we have a lot of at our place, its mugs.  But you know what? I like this one a lot! I know nothing about Starfox but its a fox and I like foxes.  Thinking about all these mugs, I should have a mega tea party..haha! Okay, writing posts at 1am apparently makes me say silly things…and have weird ideas.

4) Zelda Map Mousepad

I know this map has a name for the place, but I can’t remember it without the info card.  Thats how much I lack knowledge of Zelda. I will use this though.  It sure beats my pile of paper.

5) Pacman Keychain (and it makes the chomping sound!)

I’m geeking out over this.  You know that high pitched voice that I made for the Tetris notebook in the last unboxing video.  Yeah, thats how I was reacting to this one 🙂 I like these retro arcade games: Tetris and Pacman being my fave.

6) Zelda T-shirt!

Apparently these Zelda products are from different games.  I knew this looked familiar but I have to confess that I had to do a little research to figure out whether this was actually Zelda.  This shirt is totally cool.  Arcade Block shirts are for my boyfriend so I’m sure he’ll enjoy wearing this one.

I have to admit that these Arcade Blocks are rather fun.  From the videos of some other surprises boxes that I haven’t subscribed to, these are really hit and miss but so far, I’m relatively impressed.  The boyfriend read somewhere that next month has two T-shirts? Wonder if thats true because those shirts probably take up about 50% of the reason I’d renew my subscription, even if I don’t wear it.
