Tranquil Dreams Podcast #19: What’s Up 2021 Week 26 & 27

Welcome to the next episode of Tranquil Dreams Podcast as we go back for a double week recap of Week 26 and Week 27. Two weeks for 2 reasons: The first to catch back up and second, Week 27 is a little it of completion of things starts in Week 26 so a good double week to do instead of pretending I didn’t finish and having to only wrap up the week after.

This episode, I talk about the first impressions of Want, a novel that I started and dive into an overview of the gaming franchise The Room before discussing its latest game, The Room 4: Old Sins finally ported to PC after 2 years released on mobile. In terms of movie, its a look at the new Netflix film Good on Paper and some rewatches and sequels while TV is a quick talk about my thoughts on the latest Netflix Chinese series The Rational Life as well as the second season of Too Hot to Handle and the first Amazon Prime series that I watched and finished obviously!

Thanks for listening and hope you enjoy!

Tranquil Dreams Podcast #11: What’s Up 2021 Week 18

Welcome to the next episode of Tranquil Dreams Podcast as we cover What’s Up 2021 Week 18. It’s a really quick one as this lands on the last week of April and coincidentally, the last week of work rush, meaning not a whole lot was done. Every section had a quick overview of the one or two things that that I managed to check out or currently doing. Nothing too special to discuss but some potential plans for some of the sections to talk about and an update on the binging situation. Hope you enjoy!

Tranquil Dreams Podcast #10: What’s Up 2021 Week 17

Welcome to the next episode of Tranquil Dreams Podcast! This week’s What’s Up 2021 is covering Week 17. We are officially back to weekly format.

In this episode, I take a look at what I’ve been reading, watching, playing and binging on Week 17 of 2021. Reading is a little uneventful however among the many things talked about in the other sections, some of the highlights are talking about what makes Dumplin’ a worthy rewatch, a capsule review of Oscar-nominated Chinese film Better Days as well a dive into the wrap-up of Chinese idol survival competition Produce Camp 2021 and their new temporary boy group INTO1. I also share some upcoming plans on new discussion topics on my mind lately to add some variety.

Hope you enjoy!

Tranquil Dreams Podcast #9 What’s Up 2021 Week 16

Welcome to the next episode of Tranquil Dreams Podcast! Its time to go back to a weekly recap for the What’s Up segment as I discuss what I’ve been currently reading, playing, watching and binging. This past week had a few film rewatches and a discussion of my love for Netflix guilty pleasure TV as well as my thoughts on some Chinese TV series that I wrapped up: A Murderous Affair in Horizon Tower and The Sword and the Brocade. Some of the few things that I discussed in this episode along with a touch on the lesser categories this week in reading and playing.

Hope you enjoy!

Tranquil Dreams Podcast #8: What’s Up 2021 Week 14 & 15

Welcome to the next episode of Tranquil Dreams Podcast! We’re technically supposed to be back to a weekly recap but a change in my schddule and setting a routine has causes it to be a little delayed! So, here we are! One more biweekly and then we will be back on track completely instead of the am entire week behind. I think it actually works better. Isn’t that great? Plus, I realized that it landed on a week that I pretty much was focusing so much on catch up and other things that I didn’t do a whole lot of things in each category so these two weeks has actually quite a bit to offer combined together.

With that said, this week, I may go a little deeper in what I’ve done from what I’ve finished to new additions on what I’ve been playing, watching and binging! And you know what? All segments are back in action. Pretty much…kind of…

Thanks for listening and hope you enjoy!

Tranquil Dreams Podcast #7: What’s Up 2021 Week 12 & 13

Welcome to the next episode of Tranquil Dreams Podcast!

This episode, I continue with the What’s Up 2021 as we dive into a double week recap for Weeks 12 & 13. No reading this week as there hasn’t been any progress in general however some fun bit to talk about as I discuss Little Nightmares 2, some horror movies from Shudder as well as a new Chinese series that has lived up to my anticipation so far. Theoretically the last double week recap as we get caught up with What’s Up!

Thanks for listening! Hope you enjoy!

Tranquil Dreams Podcast #5: What’s Up 2021 Week 8 & 9

As things slowly get back to normal, podcast will hopefully get back on track. This episode, What’s Up 2021 is recapping Weeks 8 and 9 of the year through the reading, playing, watching and binging. In all categories, its fairly unbalanced as expected as the 2 weeks aren’t really focused on this other than a lot of work. Either way, what can we do? Its over now and I can only look back and talk about what’s gone on. Plus, there are some really cool discoveries so hopefully, I will share some fun new titles for you all to check out if you haven’t already. As a note, its been a heavier focus on movies and TV these 2 weeks.

I’m playing a game of catch-up right now and vouched to do 2 weeks here and then another 2 weeks What’s Up episode coming up next for Week 10 & 11 and then things should get back to normal on a weekly basis. Fingers crossed since work will pick up soon and these podcasts can’t really be done in advance a lot so it might go back to a biweekly format. We will see in time!

I’m still polishing this series and with the pandemic and work schedule a little crazy, my routine has taken a little switching up every few weeks causing this inconsistency and a little hard to find a set time to record and edit throughout the week. Bear with me as this (hopefully) calms down. I keep saying it but workload has been abnormally elevated so its hard to really tell at this point.

Either way, hope you enjoy this episode and let me know what you think and what you’ve been reading/watching/binging/playing!

Tranquil Dreams Podcast #4: What’s Up 2021 Week 7 Recap + Highlights

Its FINALLY time for the next Tranquil Dreams Podcast!

After a few weeks off from the podcast due to work reasons, its time to get back on track. While the past 3 weeks of What’s Up had reverted back to the written format, this episode will not only cover the Week 7 recap but also mention some highlights of the last few weeks!

With that said, Week 7 had some signs of getting back on track. I talk a little bit about some of the future plans coming up as things slow down for next month or in the near future at least in each of the categories. There is some new little things and ideas that I had talked about before but haven’t had time to work on.

One thing that I do apologize for mostly in the second half of the podcast is that I’m having some minor sinus issues so I had to clear my throat here and there and then take a little break in the second half as it was starting to really bother me.

What’s Up 2021: Week 6

As I consistently fall back to the original written format and also a few days late, this is the last week where this is the case as I was catching up with sleep and regaining my mental energy, I have a new game plan for next week and its going to get that next podcast episode out. For now, let’s keep with this format.

I promise to do a quick highlight of the past 3 weeks that were in written format since there are some little thoughts of a various things. This week might be a little different as I looked back and realized that I got confused with my weekly recap timeline so maybe this week might be a little less to make up for the mistakes.

READING

Currently reading:  The Visitor

As I fall behind on reading, I made zero progress on The Visitor. The hope is to get back to reading and finishing it in the coming week so fingers crossed 😉

PLAYING

Steam Game Festival Demos

  • Lunark
  • Rain on your Parade
  • Tiny Room Stories: Town Mystery
  • Lost Words: Beyond The Page
  • Children of Silentown
  • A Perfect Day
  • The Companion
  • Ghost On The Shore
  • Beacon Pines
  • Cats and Other Lives

As I put together this week, I realize that I forgot to wrap up the Game Warp post for the Steam Game Festival. Tossing that onto the to-do pile. However, I did play some solid demos. One of them had a funky bug that shut off my PC but if they fix that bug, that game might be the ones with more potential. Of course, being a backer for Lunark also makes me a little bias but at the same time, the demo did not disappoint as in the world building while the controls needed a little polishing. Aside from that, Ghost on the Shore, Lost Words and Children of Silentown definitely are ones that I added to my wishlist after the demo as well.

WATCHING

  • Hustlers (2019)

As I get things back on track, movie watching has been on a low. Hustlers being the only film that I watched in the previous week (as I mentioned before that I’m behind so its like more than 1 week ago). I’ve heard good things about it. I do tend to stay away from films with Jennifer Lopez as the ones I’ve seen were pretty meh however, this one is alright. Everyones does a good job. Where I had issues with it definitely was not the acting but more the execution and pacing. I will discuss it more in a review post.

BINGING

  • Beauty From Heart (2021)
  • Sweet Home (Season 1, 2020 Review)

Currently binging: Who’s The Murderer S6, Shine! Super Brothers, Fourtry S2, Share Life, A Journey For Love, When We Write Love Story

With the wild workload thats been hanging over my life in general, its the first week that I have kept everything fairly stable and not a whole lot of new shows. The only one thats new is A Journey For Love is actually not that new except that I forgot to mention it before.

Beauty From Heart finished up and I’m working on the TV binge right now. So many thoughts for that one especially with the message its portraying and the character development. The husband and I finished up Sweet Home as well. The TV binge for that was released yesterday so you can check that out. In a nutshell, its pretty good and I like post-apocalypse films and creature features so right up my alley. There are some little issues here and there but overall, I’m hoping that it gets a second season.

Shows like Fourtry Season 2 and Shine! Super Brothers is at its last few episodes. Good thing because next one has some new things and the next season of Produce Camp and Youth With You is coming up so its going to be kind of wild soon.

Thats it for this What’s Up!
What have you been reading/playing/watching/binging?
