My Weekly Adventures: The 8th Blogiversary

my weekly adventures

This weekly adventures is a tad later than usual…because of the big event that Tranquil Dreams is 8!!

It all fits perfectly because I didn’t have much that happened other than working on some personal matters that I don’t prefer to share here. On top of that, its a whole lot of overtime at work and you all don’t want to hear about that just as much as I don’t want to talk about it, I’d presume. Then there’s the obvious issue of being sick which I had mentioned briefly on a What’s Up. So all in all, not a ton of fun activities in the last two weeks.

Normally, I have the habit of an annual vlog to celebrate the blogiversary but let’s just say that the plans fell through because I forgot I had to film and ran out of time. I have to say that it might be for the better. Before we move onto the more Weekly Adventures bit, let me write a little on celebrating the blogiversary today.

For one, its a massive thank you to everyone who has stopped by here, liked a post and the other bloggers and podcasters that I’ve worked with. Its pretty fantastic to think that I’ve been doing this for eight years and that now its part of my daily life and the content has grown and changed as well. Its also been a journey where I’ve learned a lot not only in finding my writing style and simply writing better but also the fact that without here, I wouldn’t have learned video editing and audio editing and learned how to be a part of podcast co-host and co-host a blogathon as well. At the same time, I never thought that I’d get the opportunity to cover festivals and review screeners and all that fun stuff. All in all, a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone whether you drop by today or later on or before this post existed.

This past week was a nice little work up to this because I had one announcement and one little decision in the making which is the only Weekly Adventures worthy parts…

Ultimate 2000s Blogathon Announcement

In case you missed it, Drew and I announced out Ultimate 2000s Blogathon on Monday. Sign up and submissions are open for 3 weeks. We are looking forward to it all. Its the 4th year that we are doing what we have called the Ultimate Decades Blogathon this time of year and the 2000s has such great movies that we are looking forward to what picks show up.

If you missed the announcement, you can find it HERE.

To Come: Videos, Vlogs, Discussions and more

Ever since I stopped doing What’s Up videos, I’ve been pondering this video business for a while. To be honest, I’ve been thinking about this even during that phase. Doing every other week seems to be hard to keep up with mostly because it just falls out of routine and seems a bit redundant. So I decided to do a monthly What’s Up roundup sort of thing. At least thats the idea for now. The goal is to eventually get something much more entertaining like discussions or compare and contrasts on movies and adaptations or their remakes or reboots or sequels. Something that I like to talk about preferably so it can really be anything. I might do audio and just do clips in the background more than myself showing up in the videos.

I still have some decisions to make but I think its a nice way to liven up the Youtube channel a little and do some extracurricular video editing practice. I did think about doing like a podcast style as well or maybe just doing an audio version as well.

All in all…

We’re 8 after all! I’m looking forward to changing things around and a part of me wants to go back to where it all started with a bigger focus on food and baking which I honestly miss a lot. I miss the days that I watched a lot of Chinese and Taiwanese TV series and Hong Kong movies and I guess its the years that its been here that I’m not as afraid to take those risks so I’ll slowly get that going as well. Its been on my mind for a few years now and I never figured out how to integrate it so I’m going to just go for it once I find the right structure and angle.

That’s it for this special Weekly Adventures!
Thanks to everyone for being a part of this journey!
Being here for 8 years means that I’ve seen many bloggers come and go.
As for myself, I see myself going further a little longer 🙂

Current Status….Work Overload

As I take a literal 3 minutes to put this together so that there is something going up today and to apologize for the delay of more Fantasia reviews going up, I’m literally in work overload. I haven’t stopped working for the last 4 days except to do the essentials and sleep the 5 hours I need to function. Love Fantasia, its just at the busiest time of the year for work also.

Anyways, as I struggle to eventually after today’s deadline to wrap up the Bleach review from Fantasia, I have some other stuff in the works when I get home tonight as well. I have something special to do this weekend so I’ll be making sure that things go up here as well, maybe clear out of those TV binges I have sitting around on my to-do list, The only upside of this overload was bringing work home and then actually

In the meantime, enjoy these Game Warp videos, its story driven stuff to think of it as movie time with me 🙂

Lots of fun stuff coming up like What’s Up vlog and such. I still have like 3 Fantasia reviews to get done and one more Fantasia movie to see tomorrow so things are still happening.

Have a great day everyone!

No time for writing..how about some videos?

Happy Friday everyone!

I’m sure hoping all of you are having a fantastic and awesome day! The fact that I managed to get posts up almost every day of this week is a miracle in itself but today, I’m out! This is the 5 minutes on my break I have to just get something quick together.

I had a beautiful book review in the works but just not time to wrap it up and I’m not in the habit of posting subpar material (since I’m already not that skilled).

With limited time to get this together, let’s see…*thinking*…what to share?

How about some fun facts for Game Warp and my gaming habits!  Since I only post up the podcasts here, maybe this stuff will peak some interest and I can get some new subscribers over there as well. That would make my weekend.

  • I started up a new series doing monthly roundups of mobile games that I’ve checked out! This is the latest one!

  • Life is Strange is what started up the podcast even if we didn’t look at it as our first game to debut the show. With that said, last year’s prequel Life is Strange: Before the Storm is our April featured game and here’s the first episode of the game. Its heavy on story and choice-based. If you want to watch a movie-like game, this is a nice choice for the most part, plus you can laugh at how I make bad choices and decisions. There are five parts to the video making it into digestible morsels of viewings because its like 3 hours (to my surprise) for one episode.

  • All our gameplay/Let’s Play/playthrough (whatever you want to call it) videos are no commentary so you can experience the game for yourselves and act as walkthroughs as well.
  • My husband is also part of the Game Warp team. While he started out just helping out with the first person shooter games, he started running a racing simulator games series for both Gran Turismo Sport and Assetto Corsa this year. Project Cars 2 is in the works and should make an appearance later this year. Here’s the latest video!

  • I have an addiction with rhythm games and story driven experiences and am absolutely horrible at first person shooters because I can’t multitask in gaming to save my life but am a fantastic multitasker with everything else. Not sure why….

That’s it! Some shameless promotion here, I know!
Its a fun little Friday posts and reminds me that I’ve worked hard on something this week other than my job.
Building a Youtube channel is super hard and we’re at that beginning phase where its just pushing through, but its still a lot of fun!

Are you a gamer? What type of games do you play?

Its a mad dash to the finish line….

Today is the day. At least I hope today is the day that I wrap up NaNoWriMo. I’m sorry for these random posts. I have it all planned out today to write up a movie review and yet those take the most out of me when I’m trying to construct the words to wrap up the novel and can’t really figure out how to get from where I am to the end point. In after thought, I could have put up the recipe post I had planned later on. Hmm…oh well, we’ll just go with it at this point.

Here’s a few fun videos while I wrap up and catch up.

And maybe another shameless promotion…not sure why I’ve been into escape the room games whenever I stress.

Happy Tuesday!! 🙂

Its been a bit busy so…

Yay..to last minute posts!

I have half of post ready that was supposed to go up today. I’m not too confident I’ll be able to wrap it up. Between now three days behind on NaNoWriMo and the deadline just over a week left, I’ve been powering most of my energy for it. And well, there’s been editing duties to take care of the last few nights, which I totally love doing.

With that said, I feel like I’ve been slacking off a little, even if I really am not. So here’s a few things I watched that have helped me de-stress a little.

Team Edge is so awesome! I usually have a lot of fun watching their challenges.

I’m not quite the fan of VR just yet but Until Dawn: Rush of Blood looks intense and watching people get scared is in general pretty funny. Maybe my humor is a little warped.

And finally..for some shameless self promotion, kinda. When I’m not writing or editing, this is what I’m working on…trying out new recording software for mobile games.

Its short and not super interesting, I guess. But I  needed a pass for today. Hope you enjoyed the vids! 🙂

Normal posts should come back tomorrow! Sorry again.
