No time for writing..how about some videos?

Happy Friday everyone!

I’m sure hoping all of you are having a fantastic and awesome day! The fact that I managed to get posts up almost every day of this week is a miracle in itself but today, I’m out! This is the 5 minutes on my break I have to just get something quick together.

I had a beautiful book review in the works but just not time to wrap it up and I’m not in the habit of posting subpar material (since I’m already not that skilled).

With limited time to get this together, let’s see…*thinking*…what to share?

How about some fun facts for Game Warp and my gaming habits!  Since I only post up the podcasts here, maybe this stuff will peak some interest and I can get some new subscribers over there as well. That would make my weekend.

  • I started up a new series doing monthly roundups of mobile games that I’ve checked out! This is the latest one!

  • Life is Strange is what started up the podcast even if we didn’t look at it as our first game to debut the show. With that said, last year’s prequel Life is Strange: Before the Storm is our April featured game and here’s the first episode of the game. Its heavy on story and choice-based. If you want to watch a movie-like game, this is a nice choice for the most part, plus you can laugh at how I make bad choices and decisions. There are five parts to the video making it into digestible morsels of viewings because its like 3 hours (to my surprise) for one episode.

  • All our gameplay/Let’s Play/playthrough (whatever you want to call it) videos are no commentary so you can experience the game for yourselves and act as walkthroughs as well.
  • My husband is also part of the Game Warp team. While he started out just helping out with the first person shooter games, he started running a racing simulator games series for both Gran Turismo Sport and Assetto Corsa this year. Project Cars 2 is in the works and should make an appearance later this year. Here’s the latest video!

  • I have an addiction with rhythm games and story driven experiences and am absolutely horrible at first person shooters because I can’t multitask in gaming to save my life but am a fantastic multitasker with everything else. Not sure why….

That’s it! Some shameless promotion here, I know!
Its a fun little Friday posts and reminds me that I’ve worked hard on something this week other than my job.
Building a Youtube channel is super hard and we’re at that beginning phase where its just pushing through, but its still a lot of fun!

Are you a gamer? What type of games do you play?

My Weekly Adventures #32: Getting Organized!

We’re getting things more organized here! My Weekly Adventures will be numbered from now on! At least that way there isn’t a confusion and it kind of gives it less of the same title over and over again. I will try to add a little something to make it highlight what the part is about.

November is the month when I start thinking about the next year so that is exactly what I’m doing. I still can’t exactly believe that 2016 is almost finished! Christmas decorations need to go up soon and everything is being in preparation mode for December! I mean, everything!

Let’s start!

NaNoWriMo Progress

Nanowrimo

The beast I need to talk about first is NaNoWriMo. It is the highlight of November. This is my sixth NaNoWriMo and if when I finish, it will be the fifth one I completed. It also means, I need to work on some editing. Both my husband and best friend has asked about reading some of it. There has to be one story that I feel can be made into something a little more presentable. Maybe not for the public eye but at least friends and family that have to put up with my disappearance and sudden running off because I need to do word sprints.

NaNoWriMo is going pretty well! As I’m writing this up, I haven’t started the writing for the day but I’m at 21,156. I’m about 500 words behind provided I get the word count today. The story hasn’t hit a snag just yet but I did fall behind as I had to restructure a little of the outline as I work up on the first turning point. Thrillers are super hard to write. For those who don’t know, I’ve pretty much wrote a different genre of novel every year so far. The most promising goes to last year’s so far. I still think about how to make it better. This year is all about a thriller and those are super hard because its being able to keep a plot going but having a second thing going on where there are hints. It kind of happened just because I decided the day before I started to mesh two ideas and couldn’t decide. I’m sure it’ll work out.

On a better note, all this work has turned me into a super efficiently organized person. Apparently, when time becomes super scarce, I just go crazy on structuring my to-do list. All good things! I’ll do a recap at the end of the month. I feel like I’ve grown much more this time than ever and its only half a month. Plus, I’m still relatively on track which is a record on its own! Let’s not get overconfident though ;).

MTL a Table

MTL a Table

Another year of MTL a Table has passed. We went to three dining restaurants and expanded our group to a three couple and one baby foodie adventure. We ended it with a little brunch (that unfortunately didn’t have the complete group). That post is going up tomorrow! There’s always so much to try and decide on and this year was no exception. I have my eyes on a few restaurants for next year. So far, those restaurants haven’t had menus that work for me yet. This year’s choices were still pretty good. They were all unique in their own way to say the very least. Plus, it was with great company. We keep to ourselves quite a bit, mostly due to schedule and being busy with our own little stuff so its nice to hang out with friends when we get a chance.

We are already looking at the next Montreal foodie event! It might be in a few months though.

ShirtPunch finally came in!

 Life is Strange Shirtpunch

Life is Strange Shirtpunch

It took more than a month to get processed and sent here but I finally got it from ShirtPunch! You know what? It was worth the wait because it looks so awesome! I had my issues with Life is Strange but there are so many charming elements of it as well. A truly memorable experience.

Planning for 2017

I can’t ever remember how much I’ve talked about on this. I talked about domain and all that stuff earlier in the year. Don’t worry about it. It is still something I’m working on. There’s never something that pops out at me yet and I want to make a banner and stuff to make it all look more professional and fun! Just look at the sad YouTube channel page, for example, it would have multipurpose. I’m uploading more stuff there, like game playthroughs and unboxing primarily. There is actually going to be more stuff there soon. I’m working on the next thing right now. Its something that I’ve been thinking about for the last year so its nice to want to do something more.

As for 2017, there may be some finalizing the change in direction of what I’m doing. For one, there may be more video content, maybe less movie reviews and more focus on lifestyle. Although, to be fair, my lifestyle includes a lot of movie, TV and books so you won’t see it going away any time soon. Especially since I just started exploring the world of visual novels. Plus, I have to get back to those abandoned projects that I haven’t done anything for in a while.

If it isn’t crazy enough right now, my husband and I are setting up something new right now. Funnily enough, I made a banner for that already. Just need a thumbnail logo.

Lots of stuff in the horizon, my lovelies! My question for you all: What do you like reading here?

Game Warp: July News Blast!

Another episode of Game Warp is here! Elwood and I look at the July news that has caught our eyes from the map reveal for Ghost Recon Wildlands to pitching ideas for Life is Strange Prequel Fanfic. Let us not forget to chat about whether Xbox has an edge with the ongoing  backwards compatibilty games list and the upcoming launch of Play Anywhere. And much more. And yes, we talk about Pokemom Go and some other Pokemon related news.

Thanks for listening! If you enjoyed, our next episode is our featured game review for Oxenfree. Also remember to subscribe and/or follow us on Twitter and Facebook.

My Weekly Adventures: It’s Canada Day!

Happy Canada Day, my fellow Canadians!

These weeks pass by so fast! The second half of June was super busy! I guess you can tell since my posts are all over the place. I literally watched two movies in three weeks. I’m not lying that it felt a little empty at times but then real life does take priority here. That is probably why there’s a good bit of stuff to get through this time around! Less rambling and more fun stuff, right?

Let’s see what happened since the last time!

Pointe Claire Marathon

Of course, it goes without saying. Just support, not actual running. This was in the Pointe Claire village area. My friends went for the half marathon and did a decent time. The weather was beautiful and maybe even nearing a little hot by the end of their course. By far, the most relaxing place that any marathon has been set that even I could sit in the park nearby next to some water and catch up on some reading.

After that, they got freshened up and brunch time! 🙂

Father’s Day

Suffice to say, that first weekend was crazy busy. I came home on Saturday and had to start preparing for Father’s Day baking. Thing was, I had no idea what to make. The initial idea was to make Chocolate Mousse for my father in law but then I lost track of time and ended up making these cupcakes that kind of failed. They tasted really good apparently since it was Vanilla Cupcakes with Marshmallow and chocolate. The concept was like a S’mores cupcakes but with a marshmallow centre but that didn’t work out. Its why I didn’t post about it. Here’s how they turned out.

Project Ravin’ Rabbits

Talk about an efficient Father’s Day! My friends came over along with their little girl to help me out with the garden reinforcements and also have dinner together.  The afternoon before, my husband and I had attempted to put up a quick fix but it turned out to not be too helpful since apparently bunnies can hop pretty high.

It was hopeful thinking that they wouldn’t put in the extra effort to get delicious organic lettuce/kale/broccoli leaves/okra leaves.

Final reinforcement!

Its been two weeks and I think its working! So far, there hasn’t been any issues. My lettuce and kale are growing. Even my okra plants are doing better well, the two that survived this rabbit invasion.

Grand Opening of Restaurant

I don’t know how my friends get news of all these cool things but they invited me to go with them to this grand opening of a restaurant called Jerry  Ferrer. On their first day that we went, it had a time frame where it was opened and would serve free food until their kitchen was empty. We didn’t end up getting there early enough to try everything but we did manage to get a few things to share. It wasn’t enough to fix the hunger and we had to go grab something else to eat but it gave us a good vibe of the restaurant and the decor and the food.

Jerry Ferrer

A great concept here for those of you who don’t read French, for children under 12 years old, they pay their age. Their meal will include one dish plus an ice cream plus a surprise. I like surprises and it makes me wonder what it is. Unfortunately I’m not under 12 so that doesn’t help.

We tried their hot dog and the pulled pork sandwich. My friends also had the ice cream which I didn’t get so I forgot about taking a picture. I have to say that they have a cool twist to the food and I like the flavors quite a bit. I’m interested in dropping by for an actual meal.

Bistro Le Mechant Loup

Bistro le Mechant Loup

Part two was at a little restaurant near Le Fagotin that I did a piece on before. I probably should have done one for this one but I didn’t see the need for it probably because it was a rather quick meal and since I was starving, it really didn’t make a difference. The night we went (Wednesday’s) was also the evening they have selected main meals at $15 each. I expect that maybe I’ll head back here eventually. Here’s what we had!

Fish and Chips

Smoked Meat Poutine

I’m not exactly sure of the verdict of my friend’s Smoked Meat Poutine but I liked the Fish and Chips a lot! The service was decent but I think it was slower just because it was a busy night. However, the dishes did seem to have a flair and I’m interested in trying out other items on the menu if I get a chance. Not to mention the decor is really rustic and matches with its small and cozy environment quite a bit.

Game Warp Review Episode: Life is Strange

Seems tireless and probably won’t appeal to a bunch of you but Life is Strange was a huge hit last year and if you’ve played it, maybe you’ll be interested in hearing us talk about it. Its pretty much an interactive movie so maybe it’ll be your cup of tea! 🙂

Podcast: Game Warp Reviews Life is Strange!

Its FINALLY time for the Life is Strange Podcast review!!

After a little change in structure, its taken almost two months for the review show to get back in. We’re still finding a comfortable balance to cover everything we want, not go crazy with editing and maintaining our other projects, like for me, this lovely space here, and keeping up a consistent amount of content. We know that we’re evil if you’ve been following up on Game Warp’s social  media. We’ve been talking about our Life is Strange journey vaguely, working it up to this show. Actually, we only have vague ideas of where we were in the game process during the month before recording so this podcast recording was as much a surprise chat for you as it was for us. Its why we tried to talk about a lot in Life is Strange but steer a little clear of the spoilers. There still are but its kept to the minimum. Its longer than we’d like but I promise you, its a fun one! The gameplay is from different parts of Episode 1 of Life is Strange pieced together.

If you haven’t, we would love if you could join us on Twitter or Facebook @GameWarpPodcast whichever you choose. We update with lots of fun  gaming news and releases and stuff and when we remember (mostly my issue here, my co-host Richard is fantastic at it) the games that we’re playing in our free time. If you like the episode, subscribe on That Moment In channel. You’ll get to see gameplay videos also.

Thanks for watching! 🙂
