Unboxing: Horror Block (October 2016)

Unexpected unboxing, right?

Thanks to the last unboxing for the Horror Summer Blowout Sale and the coupon. I ended up deciding to get another box. Because, why not take advantage of a discount. Plus, unboxing videos are always fun to put together. Actually, there aren’t really a lot of editing to put into now. I’m pretty concise. Did I mention that it is just pure fun?

This horror block took so much longer to get here. I have no idea why. It seemed to be stuck in one location for tracking forever. After a week of grueling wait, it took almost 2 weeks for what would normally take three days or so. It kind of makes me wonder on why the shipping is the price it is at especially since the box is coming out of my neighboring province and also charged in US dollars which is a huge deciding factor on why I haven’t been ordering as much for these boxes because of the ridiculous exchange rate for Canadian dollars to US dollars. Okay, okay, moving out of the economics of it all. I am really excited to finally get to unbox this one!

Let’s check it out!

Thanks for watching! What did you like the most in this box?

Unboxing: Horror Summer Blowout Sale!

It sure feels like Montreal has waved bye bye to summer but I’m always down for blowout sales and I’m going to be honest that I missed those frequent unboxing. It still won’t be a permanent thing since they are still pretty pricey (especially shipping, in my opinion) but Horror block has never disappointed me before and proved its worth over and over again so let’s check it out!

I’m going to make sure to get back to this new style of unboxing from now on as Youtube video! And I’m sorry that when I recorded myself it was so dark. Still figuring out the lighting!

That’s it for this unboxing! Hope you liked it!

Unboxing: Horror Block [November 2015]

November has been a month of ridiculous mess everywhere.  I almost thought that Nerd Block had forgotten I had one more block but they resolved that really quickly and settled my mind a little.  If I didn’t get this, I might have been a little disappointed.  They had given a sneak peek that had me extremely excited. They promised a Sharknado item.  Don’t judge me.  Let me direct you over to my review HERE.  Actually, I’m excited for Arcade Block also.  So, this is the last block for Horror Block. I’m going to take a little break from it and maybe get back after the holiday spendings are over and I have the money for it. I’m liking this box, just need to balance my expenses a little. The story of growing up, right? 😉

Let’s check it out!

Horror Block [November 2015]

Horror Block

We never realized that every box opened with this message. So cool!

1) Exclusive Cleaning Cloth

Horror Block

Imagine my surprise, pulling out a cloth? Haha! Yay! Something to wipe my computer screen with, because its always so dusty as I wave papers and such around all the time. But then, all my mess is around the computer since I spend a lot of time here so what can I say? And the fabric is really soft!

2) Exclusive Springz: Twilight Zone Mystic Seer

Horror Block

I don’t know anything about The Twilight Zone except of its existence. Is that a bad thing? It might be and I might be judged.  But this is pretty cool.  At least my husband seemed to know what it was so we’re not completely clueless over here 😉

3) Exclusive Print/Autograph: Addy Miller

Horror Block

I haven’t quite gotten into The Walking Dead craze yet, mostly because I was behind to start with and now its at like Season 5 or 6 or something and catching up has dropped in priority, especially when I have  a ton of series that I started and have like 2 seasons to catch up to.  Still, check out this art work! Its autographed and just looking super cool.  I might not hang it up on my walls or anything.  It might just encourage nightmares or give myself a jumpscare when I wake up in the middle of the night and go grab some water or something but I love the colors and its just wow!

4) Rue Morgue #162

Horror Block

I absolutely adore these Rue Morgue magazines. It might be one of the things I miss the most about these boxes, especially with January and February pulling in a lot of horror movies. Maybe I’ll miss some interesting topics.  With that said, Krampus has me absolutely intrigued.  I didn’t find time to see The Good Dinosaur with everything going on BUT, I’m working Krampus into my schedule.  I need to just reward myself for being crazy good and being relatively on track with Nanowrimo!

Who is planning to go see Krampus?

5) Exclusive Shirt: Dracula

Horror Block

I LOVE THE T-SHIRT! Oh my goodness! It just blends into the shirt.  My new phone (Samsung Galaxy S6) has crazy awesome camera functions and it made this image appear much more than it actually was.  It really just shows up slightly on the shirt.  Such a nice vibe created with this shirt.  Its awesome!

6) Exclusive: Sharknado Vinyl Bobblehead

Horror Block

Normally, I do shirts last but the husband was all like I was going to love this because he knew I was waiting for this box for the Sharknado item.  Spoiler though since I haven’t seen the second or the third Sharknado yet but hey, I wanted a vinyl figure and here’s one. Its standing on a shark with his little Hoffsaw 3000! That is amazing! Now, I need to catch up with Sharknado 🙂

Overall…

You know what? I’m going to miss Horror Block. Its reaped some really cool gear.  Almost every box has artwork and some vinyl figure.  Or it had a movie and always the Rue Morgue magazine.  I just love it.  This box was awesome.  My fave, of course is the Sharknado item but the artwork blew my mind.  Plus, the T-shirts always rule!

I’m definitely coming back to resubscribe to Horror Block somewhere down the road and I’m going to look forward to it!

How did you find this block? What item did you like the best?

Unboxing: Horror Block [October 2015]

We’re back with some more unboxing! Arcade Block should be right around the corner but I’m super happy that the Horror Block made it here before November so that I could wrap up Halloween marathon with this lovely, or maybe, “horrifiying” unboxing! 🙂

Let’s check it out!!

Horror Block [October 2015]

1) Child’s Play Chucky Plush

Horror Block

Don’t judge me, okay? I never watched any Chucky movies, more like snippets here and there. Except I can see how this character can be uber scary. Not exactly sure where to put this one right now.  So many cool plushies. I’m debating having a spot with a basket full of plush collectibles or something after I rearrange my storage closet.

2) Cryptic Collectibles A Concise Compendium of Creepy Keepsakes

Horror Block

This is pretty cool.  Don’t you think? I don’t own horror movie related collectibles and its only started mildly because of these horror blocks but that’s all about these collections.  I flipped through it a little and I think its going to be an interesting read.

3) Print: They’re Coming to Get You

Horror Block

This is what the info card says: “Originally part of Gallery Guzu’s “Something Spooky” art show, this incredible piece of art by Paul Hanley features the genre’s most notorious undead characters and is suitable for framing.  Can you name them all?”

4) Summoner’s Mouse Pad

Horror Block

Mouse pad and Ouija sort of thing going on here. Not sure those two things should be combined in one if you believe in ghostly things.  And I do so this might end up being given away.  Haha!  I’m quite happy currently with my Hyrule mouse pad.

5) Dario Argento’s Dracula

Horror Block

*runs off to do some research* Okay, back with some info (that you all probably know already). So this is from 2012 and this version includes the making of documentary and a music video and the red band trailer.  The ratings don’t seem to be great but hey, I’m a newbie in the world Dracula movies so I might like it. Its a DVD in a Horror Block.  So far, its two for two in these blocks and I’m pretty happy about it.

6) T-Shirt: Friday the 13th

Horror Block

OMG! Kick in the freak out mode! This shirt design is awesome! Funny how I did this last year but you know what, I think I actually do like Jason Voorhees as a badass slasher than Freddy.  Maybe that’s why I was so excited when they said they would have a Friday the 13th item in the newsletters but usually its super anticlimactic but a t-shirt, even if I’m not the one wearing it, is absolutely fantabulous!

AND…to wrap it all up with a sneak peek of the next block (also my last unless I continue the subscription):

Horror Block

SHARKNADO!!! *excited screaming* The husband looked at me and shook his head.  He just doesn’t understand why and how I like Sharknado that much. As long as you have guilty pleasures, well, this one is mine 😉

Overall, a pretty cool block, right? The T-shirt, Print and DVD were my faves.  I have a ton of horror to catch up on.  Its nice this whole half a month horror marathon.  It doesn’t burn out the desire to see more horrors after the season.  I mean, I do want to see Krampus.

Thoughts on the Horror Block gear? What do you like most?

Unboxing: Horror Block [September 2015]

We are kicking off Halloween “month” in style now.  I promise you 80% of the material going up will try to be Halloween related.  I’m working hard on getting that to happen if its not exactly mainstream Halloween frights and that sort of thing. Its also one of the reasons I wanted to subscribe to the Horror Block starting in September instead of an October start.  I’m testing it out for 3 months first and maybe we’ll extend it.  I’ll figure it out based on how I find the gear we get.

Let’s take a look, shall we? I’m pretty excited!

Horror Block
[September 2015]

1) Night of the Living Dead Magnet Set (Exclusive)

Horror Block

Remember I got that set for Monty Python before? Well, I gave those away to one of my girl friends. I hope she’s making good use of them.  Now this one is so cool! I’ve been meaning to watching Night of the Living Dead since I’ve been hearing more about it but I haven’t yet.  I have a ton of older horrors that I haven’t seen.  The worse part is that its now just sitting on our shelves and I just never pick it up and give it a go. Not sure if we having Night of the Living Dead though.  I think we do. Anyways, this is awesome! They are going on the fridge to make some funky sentences 😉

2) Horror Face Coaster Set (Exclusive)

Horror Block

Our house isn’t quite ready yet.  Still lots of furnishing and decor to work on so we haven’t quite hosted any parties or even gotten that housewarming party set.  Well, we kind of did with family this summer but this is fun stuff.  We’re collecting up some coasters from these boxes. It will be perfect for Halloween parties…or taking scary selfies as they suggest 😉

3) Rue Morgue Magazine

Horror Block

Whenever we get these magazines in the boxes, for Arcade Block its the Retro Magazine.  Its super good quality stuff.  I’m still reading through that one.  Now this one is like double the size of that magazine and just look at the content.  Let me direct your eyes to the bottom left next to the bar code.  You see that? My next most anticipated movie and if it means walking to a farther theatre to see it, you bet that I will. Rue Morgue is fantastic  and I think we get it every month.  Not sure though…we’ll see next month 😉

4) Alien Twin-Pack Vinyl Figures

Horror Block

The Alien franchise is iconic so this is fabulous.  Except yesterday, I went to organize my little IKEA glass cabinet and I might have exhausted all the space.  Maybe its time for some new furniture…but where to put that? Haha!

5) Night of the Living Dead DVD (Exclusive)

Horror Block

First we get vinyl twin pack, then there’s an amazing magazine AND to top it off we get a DVD of Night of the Living Dead.  I think Horror Block just 1up-ed itself and this is just my first block. Oh, lets not forget that this DVD also includes an exclusive documentary called Chronicles of the Living Dead.  Sounds pretty fantastic 🙂

6) Silence of the Lambs T-Shirt (Exclusive)

Horror Block

Silence of the Lambs is one of my favorite thrillers. So we recognized this right away.  So symbolic, so great.  Which reminds me, its been a while I haven’t gone back to watch the movie.  Hmm, definitely need to schedule that in some time soon.

The first Horror Block is honestly pretty incredible.  We got some stuff that I knew like Silence of the Lambs and Alien and some that I want to know more about like Night of the Living Dead.  There was some perhaps useless but fun gear that I could do something with like the coasters and the magnets. And I always love magazines since they usually are great reading material.  Its a great box.  I’m impressed.

Thoughts on the Horror Block? Any gear you fancy?
