With the sheer amount of MCU movies we get every year, they are now in so many different phases, it seems to be the right time to start ranking these films.
Compared with other superheroes, MCU is more or less complete in my viewing with only a few slots as this post goes up now but it will be updated with the remaining films in between that I have to catch up with. You will see the unseen movies at the bottom.

It has been a while since one of these What’s Up things. Actually, I had been putting them off as a buffer thinking that it had been so recent. Apparently, I was wrong. Either way, I was supposed to have a double feature go up today for Violet & Daisy and The Gift but it isn’t done. This week has been odd. Busy and crazy and yet not really motivated to do much when I get home especially after working on my family’s income tax since I’m the numbers person in the house. It isn’t particularly complicated, just time consuming, especially when my real life job is of the number-crunching variety and it has been super busy as well.
Aside from that, this morning has been just really ridiculous. I don’t want to complain but its one of those, “Can I just crawl back into bed?” days. However, I do have one other post that needs to get up in a timely fashion for Game Warp stuff. If only Google Drive app didn’t want to be stupid this morning, it probably would have been fine. Okay, I’ll stop now.
Anyways, not really sure what to do for this What’s Up segment but let’s give it a go!

Riverdale
Riverdale is in its last few episodes before Season 1 ends. I’m really looking forward to writing up that post, while I have a feeling, I need to rewatch Season 4 of Gilmore Girls at this point. I’m getting all the seasons mixed up together and its why those recaps aren’t up yet. The Client List is still happening but I took a break because I need to write Season 1 recap and Season 2 is having a pretty slow start. For something more light and fluffy, I’m watchingt his Hong Kong series called The Neighborhood. Its not great but it is a ton of fun to watch and a change in pace from the norm. Especially as I wait to go home and watch the next episode of Riverdale tonight. Actually, I haven’t finished Gotham Season 1 yet but I haven’t watched that for over a month, not sure it still applies as binging it 😉
Reading
Freshly started reading this graphic novel this morning! Titan: An Alternate History from AH Comics and also one that I picked up at Toronto ComiCon. So far, I’m about halfway through and it is pretty good. Very creative and the art is fantastic. There’s this really cool contrast. Anyways, not reviewing it now. I’ll do it soon once I’m done. It has been quiet on the reading front mostly because I’m waiting for my f-ing books to arrive and its one of the reasons that has me a little down. Although I’m a little better now. #firstworldproblems, am I right? 😉 Anyways, the resolution now is a replacement order which I’m going to pick up at an Indigo store myself because apparently our postal service can’t get these orders to me without any hiccups.
No complaints…I’m taking a deep breath…let’s continue! I am thinking of starting Ready Player One and Cinder now. However, there are 3 books that take priority to it because some of our darling bloggers and writers were kind enough to send them to me to review so I’m stoked about that.
See, I told you this would get positive. 😉
Playing (and the list is so much longer…)
I’ve been absolutely obsessed with PinOut which is a mobile pinball game on a time limit. I actually beat it just the other day and went into overtime, which I have no idea what that means but I’ve been jumping back into it and trying to unlock a few more achievements plus its just a really nice game to pass short bits of time. On the other hand, I’ve been spending lots of time on Steam. April’s Game Warp featured game is Guacamelee: Super Turbo Championship Edition and I only have just a bit left. Battleblock Theater is one I finished Chapter 1. I don’t think I can do chapter by chapter playthroughs as it gets harder but the first chapter was decently fun and simple.
However, I did get a stream for Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series – Episode 1 which was released on Tuesday. I actually posted up the playthrough. I had to remove songs because it turned on copyright claims so I’m sorry if its boring and if you sometimes hear me snickering in the background. It was the footage from the stream.
I’ll be doing an overview and quick review of Episode 1 over at That Moment In soon. Its been a tad busy and a few things to roll out before.
Listening
I’m still following The Voice Season 12. There’s some pretty good talent although a good part of the ones I like are gone. My fave is Johnny Hayes who unfortunately got cut. How I stay positive is that even though he is cut at least I now know of his existence and that he actually is in a band and I’ll be following that. His voice and style is awesome. Seriously love it! 🙂

Writing this up has been fun and honestly, I’m feeling a lot better. But its time for a little chill session.
One of the reasons for some structural change here is to make it stay fresh and fun.

2017 is here! I’m sorry for the tardiness of posting up the 2017 outlook post. I’m working on that and just settling on a few little decisions that I haven’t made up my mind on but that should be up tomorrow. However, in the mean time, I feel super late talking about my list of anticipated movies of 2017 and this post is going up later than usual also but its the holiday and I’m taking it easy.
Before we jump into the list, please note, this is preliminary and usually doesn’t include any indie movies because I usually don’t catch on to those until very close to release date or a ton of you have talked about it or Fantasia. Or I’m too busy with Netflix movies to look too much into it.

Superheroes, sequels and remakes is what this year’s anticipated movies for me is all about. It kind of makes it seem like a little scary because we all know how these things can just really go completely wrong. While a lot of people are done with Resident Evil or just haven’t really liked it from the beginning, I’ve liked it a lot for the “so bad its awesome” factor. I like the action and the over the top and everything that is wrong with it. I’m super excited for Beauty and the Beast and actually my girl friends are pretty much decided to go see that one. Hopefully everything will work out. The wildcard in this list goes to Bon Cop Bad Cop 2 which is a French-Canadian film that had a huge following back in 2006 for its first film. I have no idea how it took ten years or eleven at the time of release to get it out but I’m pretty stoked about it.
And now for some honorable mentions and other titles that has me intrigued but a little skeptical.
After over a month of seeing Guardians of the Galaxy, I’m FINALLY finishing up what I started.
Its weird that I didn’t do this sooner because for one, my movie experience was pretty peculiar.
Not quite as memorable as the whole dog in a theatre nudging on my chair annoying as when I saw Gravity, I sat next to a very peculiar guy with his girlfriend who not only walked past us countless times (we prefer aisle seats) before the movie started, he finally sat down and started answering to my sarcastic comments that I was saying to my boyfriend in the previews. It was a bit weird because I don’t really mean to interact with strangers. Movies are like my little bubble. So, yes, as I’ve thanked Cineplex before, I thank them again for having armrests that go up so I could scoot closer to my boyfriend 😉
Plus, we were in a smart crowd and I wanted to high five the (approximately) 80% that stayed for the after credits scene. FINALLY, people are getting it 😉

I’ve taken so long to write this up that I don’t really think that I can add anymore than everyone has already said. Guardians of the Galaxy is an awesome movie and it was so much fun. If there’s anything I would say is that I rarely find the villains of these team superhero movies to be really villainous. Thats the only thing really. Granted, the appearance of Ronan is a lot creepier than say Loki in The Avengers. Yes, I had issues with Loki but thats because I hadn’t seen Thor so I didn’t know who he was. I appreciated him more after I caught up with the Marvel movies that came out before The Avengers. Right now, our focus is on this new team, Guardians of the Galaxy. Point is, I had a lot of fun with this one! 🙂
Normally, here’s where I’ll start writing the review but this time, I’m going to approach this in a different way: a list of what I liked about the movie, which is EVERYTHING!

There you go! Just 5 short and quick points about what I loved about the movie. There are probably a few other ones but off the top of my head and to get this out of the way 😉
The last is my fave. Groot is an amazing character because c’mon, he had 3 words to say through the entire movie over and over again and different intonations gave it a different feeling. My fave part was where he was having a conversation with Rocket and even though all he said was “I am Groot”, Rocket totally got what he was saying (or maybe he was just pretending?).
Either way, I love it! 🙂

How’s weather for you lovely bloggers? This weekend has been ridiculously chilly in Montreal. Its dropped to about 10-15C during the day. Thats a huge difference to the beautiful weekend we had last week. The sun is gone, the rain is falling hard and the wind is coming in a little also. At least Sunday afternoon warmed up a little more and I managed to do help with some painting and then went outside to scrap up the leaves from our trees that already started shedding in the front yard.
I’m struggling to find things that happened this past week that happened so I’m going to see what little bits I can come up with.
1) Guardians of the Galaxy and A Month Full of Anticipated Movies!
I’m definitely behind with all these movie reviews but truth is, I max out a little with writing these reviews so my brain is demanding a break. Its the reason why I took so long to have the last review to wrap up Fantasia Festival (which I completed yesterday) and I saw Guardians of the Galaxy last week and totally forgot to mention it, even if the stranger next to me was super abnormal. Thank you Cineplex for armrests that go up so that I could scoot closer to my boyfriend and enjoy the movie 😉 Review for that coming up!
August is a beautiful month FULL of movies that I want to see: Expendables 3, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, If I Stay, The Giver. I’ll have to make choices. It looks like I’ll be giving up The Giver for now and I’m still on the fence for If I Stay. It all depends on how much time life is going to give me 😉
2) Week 1: Nike Training Club- Getting Lean Program
Last week, I started getting back into yoga. On Monday, I seriously didn’t want to even think about starting the program again. However, I thought about it and you know, its all in my head: If I believe I can do it, I know I can push through. 100% mental so its time to push. I slacked off for 4 months, its time to pick up the pace and get back into the beat of things. Tuesday, I pushed myself to start the program.
I’ve done the Getting Toned program before and that was pretty intense. Somehow, I don’t know if its just that I haven’t done intense workouts in a long time but every single one in this Getting Lean (even the Dynamic Yoga) made me sweat buckets. Its disgusting but at least I know my body is working hard and I’m being super nice and trying to rehydrate myself a lot.
Plus, did I tell you that I’ve been doing a 30 day detox from alcohol? I’m at my 3rd week and its been pretty awesome 🙂 Its really just a personal thing since I had a bunch of parties and wedding and whatnot in July and I drank a lot more than usual. I felt that my body needed a little break from it all.
3) Garden harvest
As the weather is slowly getting chilly and reminding us that fall is getting closer, the upside is that we now have constant harvest. Sure, I was really just testing the waters this year so nothing seemed to be in abundance but although not shown here, my raspberries are getting ripe every few days and we always have 4 or 5 to try whenever we go harvest. Then, I finally got fed up of my boyfriend not harvesting the lettuce so I went ahead and did it. Maybe we will have one more batch before it gets cold? Who knows. A leaf stunted the growth of my Zucchini so I had to harvest it. I did so some pruning of the leaves to give room to the four that seem to be growing 🙂

4) More TV!
On Friday night, I realized that Netflix is going to expire Pan Am in September so since it only had one season, I gave it a watch.
Pan Am gave me a few little surprises. One was that I was hooked and ended up watching it till 3am and then woke up and continued watching for another few hours. After going out to take care of stuff for the house, I came home that night and finished it up. Second was that it has my absolute favorite French-Canadian star Karine Vanasse and she is absolutely lovely. I adore her character. Third is the very handsome Mike Vogel, who reminds me that I need to catch up with the current season of Under the Dome 🙂
Then, I ask why did they cancel this series? It was so awesome! Classy and so much fun. All the characters were great and the story was fantastic.
Of course that doesn’t end there. On Friday night, I hung out with two friends watching TV and chatting. We ended up watching reruns of Shark Tank and it reminded me that I hadn’t seen Dragon’s Den in ages and Netflix has it.
So there I was on Sunday starting to devour the 3 seasons available to me 🙂 Still watching Season 6 right now but its pretty awesome!
Aside from that, the other series to expire is two seasons of Justified and a movie called Like Crazy.

5) Ready to start the eventful months + Planning!
I always try to keep my blog busy and I’ve slowed down a little in the last 2 months just in general to not burnout from everything. With life in full blaze and picking up the pace with my new house (painting, furniture, arranging and the garden) and work, its really hard to balance. These few months have given me time to think up a few little things and refocus. I have a few projects I want to start by 2015 but whether you are new or not, I’m personally very proud of my little recommendations month and I’m happy that I’m extending that FINALLY to books. I already made the official announcement on Friday but just in case, till the end of August, the primary focus will turn to books on my ebook reader from independent writers. I actually have a perfect timing for the first author I’m about to talk about 😉
Moving on, I hope to continue into September with this and add on movies but seeing as I already did a Recommendations month earlier this year, I’m still deciding on that.
A little glimpse at whats coming up also is possibly the most popular month:
– October and Halloween month 😉 I have an event ready and I’m deciding on what marathon to do. I think I might have promised Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th BUT, that comes with the condition that I have to have finished moving and ALL my and my boyfriend’s DVDs have been organized.
– December and Christmas month..also wondering how to approach that this year since I’ve burnt through A LOT of Chrismas movies already.
Still, it’ll be busy and there will be lots of planning 🙂
6) ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
By now, a lot of you would have heard of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. My friend nominated me on Sunday evening for it so I asked my boyfriend to freeze up some ice and came over to help me film this last night. I nominated three of my girl friends and hopefully they’ll carry forward with it 😉

7) The Power of Music
I’ve always connected to music strongly so when I saw this quote, it has stuck to me. Sometimes, I go back and look for music to commemorate a certain time in my life. At times, I even subconsciously would do it for a renowned singer or just go back to music my dad and I would listen to when I was young. Sometimes, it just the meaning of what the music meant to me back then. Every relationship (not limited to love) can be related to at least one theme song and thats what makes life so awesome 🙂
