Montreal Comiccon 2019 – Day 3: The Masquerade Awards Ceremony, Paige O’Hara & Cosplay

Montreal Comiccon 2019

Day 3 wrapped up at Montreal Comiccon 2019. Sunday is the shorter day and with an array of appearances from James and Oliver Phelps (the Weasley twins), Watchdogs 2, Christopher Lambert (Mortal Kombat/Highlander), William Shatner, Paige O’Hara among many others. The Masquerade Award Ceremony took place as well following the previous event’s The Masquerade event. Sunday still had a lot of panels and workshops to check out.

Our schedule included a lot of wrap-up for the Indie Game Zone (which will be talked about over at Game Warp Blog) and capturing some more cosplay and catching The Masquerade Awards Ceremony and finally, the panel for Paige O’Hara.

THE MASQUERADE AWARDS CEREMONY

Following the previous day’s The Masquerade at the end of Day 2 (which I didn’t make it to), Day 3 had the Awards Ceremony separated into 4 categories: Novice, Journeyman, Artisan and Master. In each category, there are honorable mention prizes to armory design, wig and other elements of the cosplay costume itself. Its a pity to not have gone to the actual Masquerade yesterday as most winners didn’t go in their previous day costumes or just retained one element of it, however, here are the winners in each category.

Q&A Panel: Paige O’Hara

pagie o'hara

Paige O’Hara, known for her role as the voice actress for Belle, was the last panel that I attended. Disney movies are very close to my heart as with the majority of the audience who are big fans of Beauty and the Beast. During the panel, Paige O’Hara talks about her experiences when she started out in Broadway and her experiences working with different voice actors over the span of the Beauty and the Beast movies. She talks about her talents not only as the well-known voice actress but also as a Disney Fine Art artist where you can find her work HERE.

Montreal Comiccon 2019

At the same time, fans also asked her to sing different songs and she accommodated to it all, at one point singing a snippet of the song “Belle” and asking the audience to do the chorus while also being asked to sing “Something There” where she asked some of the fans to go up with her to sing it. If there was one word to describe this panel, especially for Beauty and the Beast fans, it was magical.

COSPLAY

Cosplay is a huge part of Montreal Comiccon. While not exactly just Day 3 cosplay, this is the cosplay from over the entire weekend.

Some of them I know and some of them I don’t. If there’s any that I didn’t label that you know where its from. You can leave it in the comments below! Some really cool cosplay this year but it really was just a small portion since Saturday I had less time due to the amount of panels lined up. Next year, I’ll have to definitely make it to The Masquerade.

Day 3 & Cosplay all done for Montreal Comiccon 2019!
Next up tomorrow is the Shopping Haul post to wrap things up!

4) I’m slowly turning into a skirts and dresses girl…something thats new to me

5) Finding a pretty summer dress is so hard…stop with pencil skirts designers, I can’t walk in those

6) Shoe shopping is one of the most time consuming and annoying tasks in life

7) The same goes for doing my taxes…

8) I remind myself everyday that what I have to stay grateful for everything I have now: the people in my life, the things I have, the experiences and especially all of you 🙂

9) I can’t get enough of thanking everyone for supporting my blog and I find EVERY SINGLE opportunity to do it 🙂

Its been a tough week with tragic events that started it off, I think everyone deserves a picker upper and a little something to spice up their day!

Happy Belated Birthday!

I knew I had forgotten on Saturday. I was so happy and optimistic and posted about Charlie Brown for a reason. If you didn’t see my Happy Saturday post, click HERE to see it.

Talk about being slow but I just had the time to look at the calender and hope for something great to happen…since I’m in this horrible pain in my left leg and left side of my lower back from slipping on ice this morning.

It just hit me that Saturday, January 19, 2013 marked the 2 year anniversary of this little blog.  YAY!  2 years went by fast and I really wanted to do something special but I had to rush off to work on Saturday morning.  So I didn’t get a chance….I’ll find another time to give you all some more goodies right after I figure it out (maybe on another milestone).

Ideas have been scarce lately…probably because my brain is occupied by work.  I’m telling you…work haunts my sleep.  I just had a nightmare about not finishing the deadlineS on time.

When I’m on here, I forget my problems, so forget about all that stress from work. This is my time!

First of all, let me…

Thank YOU!

Offering my thanks to all of you is the most important!  You all deserve a huge shoutout and I’m really trying to do that.  I’m going to try to promote your blogs whenever I get a chance.  Whether it be awards, or just how you inspire me in every little way…its coming bit by bit this year.  Without you all, I’m not sure I’d have gotten to where I am now: posting everyday, 281 followers, a few awards on my sidebar, 9,880 total views, etc.  I’ve seen a lot of other blogs get way more in less time but to me, this brings a smile to my face.  It means a lot that you all enjoy what I put up.  Every like and comment and follow really makes my day, especially today when I’m in pain.  It puts a smile on my face.  You all ROCK!

Also, I’d like to give huge thanks to That’s Life And Then You Sigh for nominating me for The Versatile Blogger Award. I received this a few days ago and was thinking if I should take this since its my 2nd time I’ve gotten it.  I am extremely flattered!

And for the 7 interesting things..I open up the floor for your questions.  Ask away my wonderful friends! Count it as a gift from me to you!

Wonderful Team Member Readership Award!

On Christmas Eve, Rarasaur gave me this award called Wonderful Team Member Readership Award.  In the midst of all my frenzy and craziness trying to get everything done after work and get myself prepared completely for our family’s Christmas Eve party, I offer my most hugest thanks to Rarasaur for making my Christmas Eve very memorable!

If you  haven’t visited Rarasaur’s blog, you have to click the link right away.  She is just about one of the wittiest and most creative blogs that I follow.  Its always a joy to read her posts about many different topics in a humorous tone whether it be daily prompts or topics of her choice.  She just posted a long line of doodle poetry which is super cute.  She’s also posted about nifty little tools to add to our posts like the forming her Rarasaur word cloud with the tag words. One of the most amazing things of her blog that I recommend is to head over and try out the Ra-Son Blogger Type Indicator Profile Test that her and her husband put together.  I attached all the links there for you to check out if you’re interested.

wonderful-readership-award2

The rules for accepting this Wonderful Team Member Readership Award is this:

  • Display the logo on his/her post/page and/or sidebar
  • The Nominee must finish this sentence and post: ”A Great reader is…”
  • Nominate 4 readers they appreciate over a period of 7 days (1 week) – this can be done at any rate during the week. It can be ALL on one day or a few on one day and a few on another day, etc., naming his or her nominees on a post or on posts during the 1 week period.
  • The Nominee shall make these rules, or amended rules, keeping to the spirit of the Wonderful Team Member Readership Award, known to each reader s/he nominates.

A Great reader is someone who can pick up any type of book or article or blog post and appreciate the words in front of them.  To finish reading an article, book, blog post and dedicate any small amount of time to look beyond your own little world and into another world, whether it be fiction or non-fiction makes a great reader.  To witness what others have experienced or to learn from what others have written makes a great reader.

Here are 4 posts that I enjoyed over the course of the last few days and would now pass on this award to them:

TEACHER AS TRANSFORMER http://ivonprefontaine.com/2012/12/27/two-kinds-of-intelligence/

For the ones, I’ve passed to.  You will find the link of a post in the recent few days that I’ve enjoyed and I urge you to read and hopefully you’ll enjoy it as much as I have.

Thank you again to Rarasaur for giving me this award!
