Weekly Photo Challenge: Vivid

The theme for this week’s photo challenge is “Vivid.” Perhaps it’s your favorite flower in full bloom, a beautiful sunset or the color of your ice cream. Vivid is limited only by your imagination. – The Daily Post

Since I’ve been yet delaying another week of vacation pics, some vivid moments! 🙂 And well, my PC hasn’t had my pics transferred from my external drive yet so its the only selection I have. If I’m exhausting you from Alaska and Seattle, I’m really sorry…

Weekly Photo Challenge: On the Way

In-between moments can be just as memorable as grand finales. This week, share a photo you took on the way to something else. – The Daily Post

I haven’t been able to get together any posts for vacation just yet but here are some shots from Seattle & Alaska. Hope you enjoy it! 🙂

Day 8: Heading into Glacier Bay National Park!

Leaving Glacier Bay National Park, heading towards Icy Point Strait!

Being on a cruise is always about being on the way to the location! There’s always time to meet new people but also time to admire everything around not only the cruise ship but also the breathtaking calm and peaceful view. While life on the cruise ship is slow, there is so much to take in.  I’d be lying if I don’t miss that a little right now, even if I sometimes felt it was a little too slow. I don’t quite mind being on the way all the time because travelling and seeing new places is just awesome!!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Broken

For this challenge, capture something broken: an old window, a vintage sign, a toy never fixed, a contemplative friend. Or go deeper: find beauty in something broken. – The Daily Post

Wow! I’m finally back in these photo challenges.  I just transitioned computers before I went on vacation so now, my PC is empty….literally.  Other than some simple software, I really have nothing here.  Everything is in my backup/external hard drive.  But, good news is that I’m working on how to show off my trip to Seattle and the Alaska cruise.  I traveled with some of my mom’s friends, which reminds me what being young at heart is because the energy they  have is incredible.  I spent a day and a half in Seattle and you don’t want to know how much places we went.  Anyways, I’m trying to figure out whether to do individual posts or just highlight days…maybe a mix of both. Plus, a little cruising reflections and a special post that’ll make me happy to prepare for in memory of the cruise and the people I met there.

Either way, enough of this foreword on that.  I just needed to get that update in case you were interested 😉  Here is pictures from one of Seattle’s places I went. This is from Bill Speidel’s Underground Tour.  My mom and her friends, who are not so fluent in English, didn’t quite get it.  But that’s because they didn’t get the Chinese version to listen to.  Anyways, this tour is awesome and funny and in the sarcastic funny way that I like about the history of the underground city and how it came to be.  Take my word for it, if you want to have a good laugh and entertainment and you’re in Seattle, go check this one out!!

To be honest, I think this is the only post I’ll have for this sightseeing location for Seattle but the Underground City is a lot of things but there is one fact you will agree with me, its pretty worn out and broken 😉

Weekly Photo Challenge: Motion

This week, share your photographs that have captured motion, and tell us the stories behind the images. – The Daily Post

Motion

Its not really clear but the motion of my cats tail swaying as she watched the birds and squirrels moving about in the front yard through the bay window 🙂

Its been a busy week, so this is all I got for this challenge!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Early Bird

For this week’s photo challenge, get up early and explore the morning light. – The Daily Post

Its been a while since I’ve done a Weekly Photo Challenge.  I’ll be doing some late posts to catch up on this probably but lets take a look at this week.  Its been mega busy at work so getting up early was not an option for me but I haven’t shared a lot of the sunrise pictures back in last year’s early December when I did a sunrise photo session with my friend.  So here’s a few of them!

I think we’re going to be planning a spring/summer sunrise photo session soon 🙂 If not events will slowly liven up the city and I’ll try to head out to capture some moments!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Ephemeral

Hey WPC, are you pulling out those fancy words on me? Its probably just I’m not well-versed with fancy vocabulary.

After searching up the definition, ephemeral means lasting for a very short time, in other words, a fleeting moment 😉 I’ve done 3 other fleeting moments up to today.  I’ll link it up at the bottom in case you’re interested in checking out more.

Game time with my cat in the evening is always a quick thing.  For one, to catch her still enough for me to grab my camera and snap a pic is almost impossible.  Somehow, I managed it the other night with a lot of help from my elastic.  Who says cats needs toys? She can play with a ball of paper or steal all my hair elastics.  Trust me, I find more and more on the floor everyday.  We have barriers now because I had to re-buy too many times.

How about a candle? Thats a pretty brief moment of calm beauty before it descends into darkness 😉

Weekly Photo Challenge: Wall

Share an image of a wall that reveals something about a place, people, or you.-The Daily Post

We look at walls every single day.  I actually forgot about this challenge until I saw this wall below at the theatres on Tuesday while waiting for my girl friends before Cinderella.

Overload of Insurgent posters at the theatre

If I’ve never realized that Insurgent is coming out, I know now and its fully engraved in my mind (even if I’m not going to see it).

In a frantic panic to do this challenge (which is still last minute), I dug through my phone because I like to take pictures of weird things and I found this one:

Restaurant Wall (I think Casey's, can't be sure though)

Restaurant Wall (I think Casey’s, can’t be sure though)

It was during a random dinner with a friend.  I really think its at a Casey’s Restaurant but from my angle, it was a lot better than how this turned out.

As I flipped through my phone more, there was this cool walls full of records at the Musee Grevin, the wax museum in Montreal that I went to back in August or September.  You can see that post HERE if you missed it.

Moving back in the timeline was probably a repeat of this photo but I LOVE LOVE LOVE this shot.

Planetarium Montreal

Its this space tucked away before going for the Planetarium showing in this obscure spot but its actually the prettiest angle and symmetry and the lights and walls work perfectly together.

For the next two, we head backwards even more into 2012 when I went to Maine.

Actually, when I first saw this challenge, this last picture was the first one that came to my mind.  I saved the best for last, wouldn’t you say?

Happy Friday! 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Orange

Finally, a lighter version but going back to last summer in Hong Kong where I saw a beautiful orange tabby at a neighborhood pharmacy.

Isn’t she beautiful?!?!?

I guess thats enough orange for this morning! I need to try and get these photo challenges up earlier in the week.  At least I didn’t skip it (like last week’s).

Nothing like bright orange-y colors to make things feel even happier 😉

Happy Friday, my lovelies!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Symmetry

Symmetry(noun): the quality of something that has two sides or halves that are the same or very close in size, shape, and position; the quality of having symmetrical parts. – The Daily Post

I don’t usually construct my photos based on symmetry but sometimes, I have these weird moments where some objects work really well because they are so linear or the contrast, etc.  It just works out better that way.  And some of them might even just be accidental.

Here’s a few of them 🙂

Upper Deck in Hong Kong Double Decker Bus, 2012

To tell you the truth, I went to the Hong Kong 2012 photos with another photo in mind.  I totally forgot about that ceiling photo at the Western Monastery and that was totally a chance thing because I was standing around waiting for my mom to get out of the washroom.  Who knew it would come out so nice, right?

Which is your fave pic of symmetry?

Happy Friday!

I’ll be back with another Oscars week review. Hint: its another Best Picture nomination!
