Today, I feel a need to take a slight detour from normal programming to show you all the monster snowstorm that we haven’t seen in quite a while. Talk about winter going out in full-on style.
Here’s last evening when I left work. Thanks to changing our clocks the weekend before, there is still light.
Here’s when I finally made it back near my place.
Last night we shoveled the driveway once and I didn’t capture any of it. But this is what we woke up to…and theres my husband shoveling and you can’t see but our darling neighbor eventually lent us his snowblower to get rid of the few feet of snow we had.
And now..back to that (almost) same shot when I left work but this morning getting back to the office…
The storm is still going on right now so I’m not exactly sure when it is supposed to stop. I heard it should some time today.
Were you hit with this storm?
Wow…this is totally amazing. Maybe not so much to you, but living in a country where our winters rarely go below 0 degrees (celcius) this is just stunning!

Trust me. Its pretty amazing as long as we’re sitting at home 😉 It hasn’t snowed like this in quite some time. We get more ice storms than snow storms, you know global warming effect. It is pretty even if its a little crazy. 🙂

Have a lovely snowy day!

“Stella” finished with MA by early evening yesterday. We wound up with about 10-12 inches on the North Shore. Ugh!😕

Yeah, we’re supposed to end today with about 30 cm (I think thats about 11 inches?).

I’m with you, Kim. I’m in Ottawa. Surrounded by white dunes. I felt like I was Lawrence of Arabia out there. 😉 Take care. Enjoy a hot chocolate when you get home tonight.

Thanks Dan! Hot tea is more up my alley. BTW, are you going to Ottawa Comicon? George Romero will be there…I’m debating it.

Tea’s a great option too 😉 I haven’t been to comic con in Ottawa before. Despite being a huge nerd, I’ve never dug on conventions. Big crowds. Big lines. Too many temptations for the wallet 😉 I’m glad Romero is coming though. You know me and horror 😉 Thanks for letting me know about it. The Ottawa comicon gets better each year.

Anytime! 🙂 I’m not much of a crowd person either but since I’ve been into this whole event coverage thing, I’ve been okay with it. Line-ups usually just mean more time to either chat with friends (when I go with them) or read or even write. 😉

True. Good way to look at the positives, Kim. I don’t know which celebrity I’d want to wait in line for an autograph from, so to me I’d be drawn more to say Star Wars celebration or San Diego ComicCon since you’d get to see sneak peeks of upcoming blockbusters. Maybe I will check the OttawaCon schedule and see what they have in store though. It could be fun.

Usually i like heading out to panels

Oh okay. That could be cool. Hearing creative types talk behind the scenes? Interesting. I just know about OttawaCon from my sis, who goes to snag some cool nerdy autographs.

Yeah. I go to toronto (which is this weekend) and montreal. Rarely for autographs or photo ops. The panels are pretty interesting. I think its worth the wait.

You always get me more curious about things than I was before. Thanks, Kim. That’s a great quality.

Did the cars (in your last photo) manage to get out or still hidden in the fluff?

When I left work, I believe that car was gone. But probably took a long time to dig out

That is good.. All the news about all the cars and people stranded in this storm is stressful.. now I wonder how long it will take them to clear sidewalks..

At least a week or two at least. My sidewalk is pretty much non existant

Until then, we should hibernate and dream about the upcoming garden… 🤣

Wow! Nothing like that here in North Carolina. We had one small snow and it melted by the afternoon. Stay safe.

All clear now luckily! The snow removal process for the city is going to take some time. But it was crazy..I live in the suburbs and I think we got about 20cms more than the main city. So thankful for great neighbors 🙂

That’s a lot of snow. My son watches Mighty Machines, which was shot in Canada. They show the snow removal team up there. It is amazing to watch.
