The Frozen Book Tag!

Its been a while since I’ve done these tag things and while I was away on vacation (and kind of catching up intensely with all your posts), I realized that I was tagged by Senseless Scrutiny for this The Frozen Book Tag! As the title goes, this book tag is all about linking with Frozen, the Disney movie, not the one about being trapped on a ski lift.  Anyways, let’s see what I can think up for this one!

1. Elsa – find a book about a main character who doesn’t realize how awesome they were till the end of the book.

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher (review) gets this one.  Look, I wasn’t a huge fan of this book but it did have a relatively good message when it came to the main character, Clay Jensen who thought he was one of the people responsible for killing Hannah Baker but he turns around and learns from her death after everything and acts  positively. Man, how do I do this without spoilers?

2. Anna – find a book that makes you feel good about yourself.

Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World that Can’t Stop  Talking by Susan Cain (review) takes this one for me.  I’m not really into reading non-fiction but this one talks about how introverts are actually really great people.  I’ve always been judged about being introverted and believing that it was a flaw but its not.

3. Hans – find a book that at first you thought you were in love with, but then you realized you hated.

Horrible to say this (or not) but I actually started Fifty Shades of Grey really liking it but man, it just kind of hits you at some point that Christian and Anastasia are two really f*cked up people.  I mean, we already know that Christian is but if you think about it, Anastasia has some issues of her own and a lot of it made no sense AT ALL….

4. Kristoff – find a book that was so intense when you were reading or done reading it you just wanted to be alone.

Wow..the choices in this one.  Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn (review) went into that territory because of how messed up it was.  At the same time, emotionally draining goes to The Book Thief by Markus Zusak (review).  Romantic and draining goes to A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks.  I haven’t revisited that one in a while but its one of the reasons I’m not sure I want to go back to read it just yet.

5. Sven – find a book with a lovable/loyal pet character

The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman and his concept of daemons as companions. Lyra’s companion, Pantalaimon was really loyal…man…I need to reread that trilogy!

6. Olaf – find a book you love to read in the winter and the summer.

In the Garden of Happiness by Dodinsky (review) or Your Favorite Seuss (Baker Dozen collection)! Or if you want the non-philosophical or children’s choice, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (review). You know, just so I have all the grounds covered.  One is an absolute feel good and inspirational book while Dr. Seuss stories are my absolute fave anytime and Pride and Prejudice is my favorite classic to date and I can always go for a little Mr. Darcy.

I didn’t want to explain my choice too much, kind of in fear for spoilers.  Some of them, I have reviewed before and I linked them up there.  Maybe you want to check it out.  It’s all good if you don’t 😉 I enjoyed this one a whole lot!
